Has anyone found a good one?

There’s loads on Amazon but the reviews are awful.

It’s the same with the one in Smyths toys.

Shit, I ordered 2 off amazon that had all right reviews, but now the pages arnt available😬

Filterphobia · 14/10/2021 20:52

That’s what I mean I can’t find any that haven’t got awful reviews. May just have to make my own.

I’d vote for make your own. Last year I couldn’t get the Body Shop one so a friend who is a consultant made me a hamper version. Everything in it was tailored to me, much better than a generic one. And fidget toys are similar as you could tailor them to your child’s own sensory needs.

Well one of mine arrived 😭 I think I’m going to be rethinking advent calendars.

Grinch Alert Claxton

Fidget toy advent calendars have been the final straw for me.
After receiving the M&S calendar each year from DM (and discovering some fabulous products via it), last year I went old school cosy picture calendar for me.
Something about the fidget calendar has made me decide that DD will be kickin' it old school too, with a 99p Kinnerton chocolate calendar henceforth.
Not sure what was so offensive about fidget calendars, but they made me twitchy with the avalanche of plastic shite before Christmas even happens.

I bought one from a woman on Facebook who sells fidgets. Not received it yet but I've bought from her a few times.

You can collect but I don't live local so paid £3 delivery which made it £23. I don't mind as at least I know I'll get it.

@AliceMcK

So the sellers have been really good. They have given me 3 options, 2 involving full refunds including postage, 3rd a 40% discount. I opened the calendar and the contents is actually pretty good, 2 fairly big Christmas popits and a bunch of other Christmas themed fidgets I know my dd will love so I’ve opted for the 40% discount and going to get the elfs to bring a new fidget each day.

You can also buy fidget boxes which contain 24 fidgets. I've not had one but I saw them on a group yesterday. Same price.

RevolvingPivot · 20/10/2021 08:58

Incase people can't get an advent.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 20/10/2021 21:51

I bought a selection of fidgets from shein and toysforapound plus some stationary for dds advent this year. I have a fabric one I fill every year I bought in tiger about 6 years ago. Yes some more plastic but I know dd will use them and once she is no longer interested they will come to work with me for the children who need them to focus and concentrate, they won't be heading to landfill here!

Lovemusic33 · 21/10/2021 15:06

Most of the bad reviews are due to them arriving damaged with doors open and things falling out. Im thinking of making my own, hobby craft sell empty calendars, I’m sure other places too and you can buy a bundle of fidget toys on Amazon.

TokyoSushi · 21/10/2021 15:11

A bundle of fidget toys and a make your own is a brilliant idea, DD has asked for one of these too and they look like absolute tat!! Does anybody have any recommendations for which calendar to use that would fit the toys in?

GobletofFiyah · 21/10/2021 16:24

@TokyoSushi we use this one it's absolutely massive. You could probably get smaller tbh

I think it takes me beyond what I could bear to pay for an advent calendar, incredible though it is!! Thank you though!

GobletofFiyah · 21/10/2021 17:02

@TokyoSushi no worries! I bought one whilst drunk last year and when it came I was like oh my god it's massive I'm insistent we use it every year now 😂

RevolvingPivot · 21/10/2021 18:57

I have a fidget advent but you can buy a box of fidgets from the same place for £20

Supermum8 · 28/10/2021 09:53

Hi!

Yes, I ordered mine off amazon and I absolutely love love love it! It's definitely worth the price as you get a huge fidget toy plus 24 other toys. I cannot wait for my son to play with it and to gift it to my nieces. It was a quick swift delivery and I had no issues with packaging etc.

Highly recommend
