Hello all!
I'm wanting ideas please for my will be 4 year old son for Xmas/birthday gifts. He has autism and loves rainbows and colourful things, for example the battery candles that change colour.
He's already got one of those colour changing spinning wands that he likes but it eats through batteries!
Any ideas welcome! Grin

Sadly son doesn't like soft toys.
Regarding kinetic sand hes got some which he likes! I actually bought him a multicoloured tub but he got upset once the colours mixed 🙄

Those marbles are beautiful! The blue and gold globe I'm tempted to purchase for DH (or myself!!)

I saw this at a garden centre and loved it (available also on Amazon), it’s a solar lamp for outdoors.

Kids can be so creative with these, rainbow shapes, making patterns and pictures, building, story telling.

Oooh they are lovely. Are they the right size to go with this? www.babipur.co.uk/grimms-wooden-toys/grimms-entire-range/grimms-ball-track-assembly.html

I could play with that all day!

Maybe a glass paint set? Of you can make a custom coloring book with pictures of animals or your DS's favorite characters + the set of crayons. Could also be a bunch of collages with pictures of everything that's red, orange, yellow etc. There are collage makers for that or you can create a whole board on Pinterest and then make screenshots.

PinkDaydreams · 18/10/2021 18:01

Unfortunately DS isn't into colouring or painting at all at the minute but I'll defo put that on my list of things (I've made a list of activities and gifts that I've come across for future use so that I don't forget them) for him as that's a good idea, making my own colouring book for him.

Why are some of the posts being deleted? It is within guidelines to post links to products we have seen is it not?

Lillibettina · 19/10/2021 23:48

Sorry - just seen your question!

It sounds like the grimms balls would work with the marble run from their description but I'm honestly not sure.

That would be proper rainbows on rainbows!

Brainstorm Toys E2004 My Very Own Rainbow Projector Nightlight, No, 250 x 175 x 120mm ]]

I bought this for my rainbow obsessed boys.

Sorry to bump this thread but have you found this to work? I've read really mixed reviews on it so not sure whether to get one or not.

Not a toy and might sound odd but I just got DS a biggish bag of 'rainbow popcorn' (each bit of popcorn is a different colour) from Homebargains... only 99p.

Thank you! I need to go to home bargains anyway, I've seen a cloud bath bomb that has a rainbow trail when it's added to the water.

How about a crystal to hang in the window and make rainbows when the sun shines? Out of his reach of course. Although my DC had massive ones when they were small that they could play with and would be far too big to try and eat.

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/11/2021 20:06

Colour changing bath lights? Don’t know how to do links but lots on Amazon.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 18/11/2021 20:15

A rainbow twirling ribbon? I've got one for DS3. Affordable too!

Perfect idea! I have a crystal door knob that when it catches the sun makes "rainbow colours" on the wall and carpet that my son loves! Such a good idea thank you! I used to have one myself but it disappeared when I moved house :( but it'll be nice to buy a new one for DS bedroom.
