Christmas eve pyjamas

I always do the "christmas eve pyjamas" thing by getting them in the bath then leaving their new pyjamas on the sofa for when they get out as a suprise.

Other people that do the "pyjamas thing" however wrap them up as a present so they have something to open on christmas eve...

I'm considering doing this but worried about ds1 (9) and he's an ungrateful sod most of the time and will open it thinking it will be an xbox game or something expensive then will probably reply with "oh...pyjamas" and that will send me loopy and put everyone in a bad mood

DS2 however would love it.

So do I wrap or not wrap?

Do it the way you always do it - in my experience, children have very fixed ideas of how and when things happen on special occasions. My children would be outraged if the new pjyamas were on the sofa, for example - I lay them out on their beds!

I once put dd's birthday presents on the table instead of on the left hand end of the sofa where they always go, and she insisted on going back to bed while I moved them so that "it was a PROPER birthday"!

LOL they're funny about location of presents too, one has to have a pile under the window and the other near the sofa on the floor. I suggested that this year father christmas just mixed all the presents up so that they had to find theirs and they both just gave me a "look" and said "no, we want it the same as always" lol

I would do what you always do.

Do what you always do, it's part of their ritual for Christmas. Something they'll always remember that Mum put the new pj's on the sofa...
