Just created one of these for my DD and hoping someone will like to idea share with me for DS (4) too. So far am planning to get:

Playmobil rocket
Lego dinosaur set
Books (natural disasters Confused)
Marshmallow toasting kit
Go kart
Rocks/fossils/treasure bundle

Any other ideas? Grin

Mine are having a batman suit and a Captain America suit. Thinking of a marble run maybe, jigsaws, onesies, night lights, kite for the 6 year old. Also got them a hatching dinosaur egg from B&M each. Would like to get some crafty stuff as well but not decided what yet. They had a lot of plastic character type toys last year so I'm steering away from that this year a bit.

Mine has been going on about pokemon and bakugan. I know very little about either.

He's getting a tablet but i need birthday and ideas for grandparents etc.

Op I'm also one who appreciates a boy thread. I'm also open minded about toys but i can't imagine me buying my sons Barbies, my own Sindys were tom-boys back in the day, and i love my technic lego.

Imaginext (DC in particular here, Batcave, etc)
Anything Pokémon
Toys related to the new Paw Patrol movie
One of those big drawstring bags that lies flat for playing Lego/small toys
Fancy dress
Farm/zoo animals
Voucher for day out/activity (trampolining is a favourite here)

My DS was all about Thomas & train-related stuff at that age, particularly wooden track & minis.

@snugglyblanket what pokemon toys would you recommend?

My LO will be just turning 5, and seems to be moving on from Paw Patrol

Lego
Professor puzzle domino
Heelies
Scooter

@MrsPerfect12

I've bought my son a space tent. I know he'll love it. It goes on the bed so not a full size tent. But I have also bought him a two man tent and sleeping bag previously.
@MrsPerfect12 would you mind giving a link to a space tent? Sounds cool

DS is really hard to buy for and just had a birthday. He has lots of games/books:jigsaws. Really grown out of Paw Patrol and PJ Masks.

He got loads of Lego for his birthday which was a hit but stressful as it inevitably ends up on the floor where small DD tries to eat it.

Any ideas of building type sets that are good for 5+ but bigger than Lego so DD doesn't eat it? She's nearly 2 so still puts many many many things in her mouth

Lockdownbear · 18/10/2021 02:23

You could try magna-tiles or similar. Although my answer was lego had to stay in DS1s room.
