Thought this might be helpful to some (and hoping someone will throw some ideas back at me too!). So far, for my DD (will be 18 months), I am hoping to get:

Manhattan doll (or similar)
Wooden pram
Rosa and Bo Russian dolls (or similar)

Any other ideas? She'll need a few more bits and bobs otherwise DS (4) will notice the disparity, though of course, she won't!

My daughters getting shopping trolley! Maybe some fake makeup hoping it will deter her from mine when I'm getting ready lol!

I’m planning to get Hope the rainbow husky (interactive pet type toy) for my 3yo DD as main present, but keeping an eye on the price in the hope it might go down!

Also probably a dressing up costume, books, washimals, My Little Pony plush and perhaps a board game as she’s started ‘getting’ some of them now! I’ve also seen some cute magnetic scene toys so perhaps that too.

For her stocking, I’ve started getting some bits…
Hair clips
Little bag
Paint set
Christmas Russian doll type thing
Twisty pet (she loves her sister’s ones!)
Will also get festive tights, chocs, bubble bath, flash cards, wind up toy, soft toy.

Just browsing Manhattan dolls as I wasn’t sure what they were and I remembered that my DD actually asked for a ‘big, cuddly doll’ so wondering whether to get one of these now!

BigJigs toys always seem to be a winner with our toddlers. They love the rag dolls and wooden high chair, cot and pram. The little wooden fruit and veg crates with Velcro that they can chop.

So far for Christmas I've bought one of those wooden rainbows, a number stacking tower, a lovely wooden tractor and farm animals, some wooden cars/vehicles, an aqua doodle mat, a phonics keyboard from Argos and some little plush woodland animals.

A furreal roarin tyler tiger thingy and some books.

She has a lot of things on this thread already so trying to have a pared back xmas before we all die under an avalanche of toys. My DH wants to get her a dolls house but tbh she’s not there yet with imaginative play.

I like the beginners board game idea.

My 2 year old is getting a lottie doll, mini skateboard (very jealous over her big sisters and she actually manages it quite well!), book, dressing up, lego (younger sibling so has been clicking away and loving proper lego since 1.5, but still enjoys duplo too!), bath bombs, selection box, colouring book.

Then in stocking: chocolate coins, modeling dough, spinning top, hot wheels car, socks, magic flannel, tin of paints, coin purse.

MoreJaffaCakesPlease · 12/10/2021 07:08

Her favourite board games are knock off kerplunk and lotto. Highly recommended them. We already have about 15 board games so this year they're getting a joint board game, connect 4.

Tootiredtowatertheplants · 12/10/2021 07:32

The orchard games are great. My little girl loves anything transport - trains, trucks, cars.
Some trucks with diggers etc are great if you live near a park with a sand pit or the beach.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 12/10/2021 10:58

I agree, Orchard Games are great for this age. My DD (3) loves Red dog, Blue dog and Shopping list. She’s also enjoys Dobble and the Deep dark wood game.

Ds age 19 months at Xmas

We have bought him a pikler triangle set.

Family have bought him a pop up tent and tunnel from kids concept.

He has enough toy toys atm already I think, and basically likes to spend his time climbing or hiding under things so going these two will be good deterrents. ( and be useful for winter months if we are indoors more). Both can be used in garden in summer also.
