I’m looking to buy a PS4 for my ds birthday, I then plan on getting him a gaming chair and headset for Christmas. I’m clueless about these things, is a 500gb one enough memory or do I need 1tb? Also any recommendations for chair and headphones would be great!

Just asked my geek husband 😂 he said 500 is plenty however it depends what games your ds would be playing like call of duty for instance that can take up alot of memory :) x

You can always get external hard drive to expand the storage if you needed it. 500 definitly wasn't enough for me and I had to.

DH has got one of these. If funds allow, go for the bigger memory.

Do you mean a PS5? Make sure you know the difference!

Lockdownbear · 07/10/2021 22:56

The 500 memory fills really quickly, few games and it's full. .
The latest is the PS5 might be worth considering unless you are buying on the second hand market.

Thanks for the advice it’s a PS4 we’ll be getting, more than likely second hand. Seems like the 1tb is the size to go for

We got a fantastic second hand deal from EBay last year @Carrie76. It was still boxed and came with an extra controller and the exact games my DS had asked for. He was none the wiser and has used it daily and it has been perfect. If you are going for second hand, you might be lucky enough to end up with the higher memory anyway.

I’ve found a 1tb second hand, for €30 more I can get a new 500gb plus a 2tb external hard drive. Any advice which one would be best?

I'd go for the new with the external hd

MoMuntervary · 11/10/2021 20:54

Ditto. If/when he wants a PS5, you'll still be able to use the external harddrive.
