For those of you with a artificial tree where did you buy it from? I like my trees quite full and thick looking Grin want to order one online for delivery if possible

I always give mine away after Christmas, so bought a cheap one from Asda-it was about £50. I've ended up keeping it for 2 years now as so happy with it.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 07/10/2021 17:56

We got a Balsam Hill unlit one in a pre- Christmas sale last year. It’s nice and full, and comes with 2 pairs of wanky gloves to fluff up the branches.

We’re happy with it, but I wouldn’t pay full price.

Twilightstarbright · 07/10/2021 19:53

I have a Balsam Hill one I bought in the sale and it’s worth every penny. Love donning the gloves for branch fluffing.

Christmas Tree World.
Fabulous trees much cheaper than Balsam Hill.

Interestingly, there is a ‘Balsam Hill Complaints’ page on Facebook. It seems their way of dealing with unhappy customers leaves much to be desired.

Floralnomad · 08/10/2021 01:16

We have Balsam Hill , very happy with them .

Jumpingintochristmas · 08/10/2021 04:44

We got a 7ft Elsie pine from B&Q last year and it was beautiful. £120ish.

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 08/10/2021 07:02

Costco 7ft ish prelit. Was about £450 but is really lovely.

JustHereWithPopcorn · 08/10/2021 09:34

Great ideas thank you 😁 balsam hill ones look lovely!

Balsam Hill without a doubt. Have always been a real tree or no tree kind of person but last year bought a big 8ft Balsam Hill and love it! buying a second one this year, they usually have a Black Friday sale.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have found some gorgeous trees on there, but they are a bit too big for the space. I'm wondering if I can leave some of the branches up so I can squeeze it in? I currently remove some of the rear branches of my current tree (a 2008 Woolworths closing down sale tree, so it has done well!) so it fits better and it looks ok, and the chat help said I could do the same. Any idea of their lights are good?
Whatwillbewilbe · 08/10/2021 23:15

I've bought a new Balsam Hill this year and also a potted Balsam Hill for outside. I can't wait to put them up , from my sneak peek they look beautiful.

tigerbreadandtea · 08/10/2021 23:16

Balsam Hill.

TrickyD · 09/10/2021 09:03

longtompot, I am not sure about leaving branches up. If you pushed it against the wall and just pushed up the back branches, it would probably be OK. You couldn’t really leave side or front branches up.
We place ours in a bay window which has a sort of window seat around it. A couple of the low back branches are left high enough up to rest on the seat. Invisible from in front as the tree is so full.

I have a Tesco 7ft Luxury Regency tree, bought it a few years ago in the half price sale. It has a mix of PVC and PE branches with berry’s and cones. It’s nice and full.

My other tree was from Woolworths (again in the closing down sale) which I’ve had about 16 years. It’s big bushy and wide.

But have been looking to get a smaller one for the kitchen as the Woolworths tree is slightly too big.

I’ve had my eye on the Premier Glenshee spruce for the last 3 years but have noticed that the prices have shot up this year. I could’ve got a 6ft last year for £80 but this year the prices are £140 +
Also looking at a Habitat Tree in Argos priced at £80.

As this is for my second tree don’t want to spend too much.

But if I was replacing living room tree I’d go for the Ultra Mountain Pine from Christmas tree World as recommended by @TrickyD 😁

DappyApple · 09/10/2021 10:14

@TrickyD, I have got that right haven’t I?
it was either you or son that has the Ultra Mountain wasn’t it?

Apologies if I have that wrong😊

longtompot · 09/10/2021 10:54

@TrickyD it's the back ones that would be against the wall and the cupboard that I would leave up, and fit into the cubby holes of the cupboard. I hope it will work as I've just ordered the 6ft ultra mountain pine tree and 600 warm white lights.

TrickyD · 09/10/2021 11:43

No it was the two Woodland Pines that we had, Dappyapple . But the ultra Mountain looks beautiful.
I am sure you will sort yours out easily, longtompot.

TorySteller · 09/10/2021 16:15

We bit the bullet and got a pre-lot Balsam Hill tree last year (in the sale).

It’s absolutely beautiful, well worth the price imo!

yoshiblue · 09/10/2021 19:01

@DappyApple I have this one too - we've had it a few years and it still looks great! I think I did some mad deal with clubcard double up and it cost £30 or something!!!

Bought a 7ft Silverado Slim from Balsam Hill for the back room last year and love that too. It was about £200 (buying in the summer) but it's well worth the money.

Eventually I'll put another Balsam Hill in the front, but will make the most of the Tesco one for now.

Sorry my mistake, must have been another m’netter that recommended it.

Yes as I recall I got extra off as well as the half price sale, I think it was an online thing as I ordered online for click and collect to my local Tesco express.
Im sure I only paid £30. Now for that price it’s a great tree, everyone always comments on how pretty it is.

DappyApple · 10/10/2021 09:56

@longtompot, this is what I have to do to make my Woolworths tree fit in the space I have.😀
it used to be my main tree in living room which was a perfect fit but got delegated to the kitchen when I bought the Tesco tree. I still think maybe it’s a tad too big!
I’m reluctant to get rid, as it’s served me well.

Let us know how you get on with the Ultra Mountain Pine, it’s a great looking tree from the pics I’ve seen!

Imohsotired · 10/10/2021 10:00

Balsalm Hill for me too, got it in the pre Christmas sale. I love it! I think it’s Canadian Spruce.

MakeAWhish · 10/10/2021 10:09

I got a beautiful tree last year from We R Christmas. Cheaper than Balsam Hill and am so happy with it. Would always go pre lit, too. The 5ft fits nicely in our fairly small lounge.

For over 50 years I've always had real tree but due to illness I had to swop to artificial 2 years ago.I bought a 6ft realistic nordman from Balsam Hills,it's totally brilliant. It's so easy to put up and also put away afterwards, worth every penny.I honestly wish I hadn't been so stubborn for so long.
