So we are hosting for quite a few this year. All good, menus sorted, others bringing things. 3 couples in the house, all good. But we are putting a couple with 2 children in our garden room. It's heated and insulated so no worries. I've got a sofa bed in there abd they're bringing air beds for the children. There's a place for a kettle etc and I'm thinking of putting a mini fridge in there. Can you think of anything you would like in there ? They're having free fun of the house too, I'm just thinking of nice extras to make them extra comfy.

I think my big questions would be whether the garden is secure and whether the back door is easy for a 5yo to open by themselves so they can come & go as they wish.
I doubt the 5yo & 9yo will have the same or even similar bedtimes. Will the 5yo be OK going to bed in the garden room by themselves? Or will it be more realistic for them to go to sleep in the main house and be carried down?
What's the 5yo going to do in the morning? With it being Christmas, s/he might well be up early. Are they going to stay in the garden room (and wake up their parents) or are they going to come up to the house and watch TV or
something from the sitting room?

Garden is really secure and very rural. House will be easily accessible so no worries about that. I'm thinking if the 5 year old is up early then mum or dad can come into the house if they like, or stay in the garden room. I'm definitely putting a small tv in there, bedtimes will be flexible from what I've been told. They're also bringing a baby monitor with them. Room is in full view of the kitchen which is where we spend most of our time.

It sounds lovely. The extension cable will be more use than a TV if they have WiFi access and tablet.....maybe a spare pair of headphones in case they forget theirs.

Have a lovely weekend.
