Bluey toys

Starting to think ahead to Christmas, and looking at Bluey toys for my Bluey-mad 3.5 year old. He has a couple of the small play sets with figures but I'm wondering if anyone has bought their children the play house - is it worth it? Also seen the 'shadowlands' board game in Smyths and wondering if this is suitable for 3 year olds?

We have bought the play house for my daughters Christmas. For the price it is really good. Husband looked at the shadowlands board game and the reviews were not good. So we are not buying that one. My only annoyance with the Bluey toys is that to get the mum we are going to end up with duplicate figures of other characters.

It's so annoying that you can only get the mum if you buy the extra packs, we're going to end up with about ten blueys at this rate!

Good to know about the board game, just had a look at Amazon reviews and it's apparently shit so I'll give it a miss too.

My just turned 4yo likes the shadowlands game. It’s so simple, he can follow it easily. However I only paid $5AUD for it so I wasnt bothered if it wasn’t great.

The play house is really good. We want the caravan, it’s super cute!

Bluey mad child lives here! We’ve got everything and it’s all great quality the house is small so my DS likes putting the furniture in his big wooden dolls house. The soft toys are great. We ordered the camper van with Jean Luc in July and it’s still not arrived it was meant to be for my sons September birthday. Shadowlands is rubbish, read the reviews the board won’t sit correctly and it’s really flimsy.

I have 2 bluey mad children here! We've got our nearly 3 year old the house, car and a set that's got a slide and swing with it. Also he's got the big pack of people so he's got all the family plus friends. There will be doubles but my nearly two year old will swipe those 😂. They look really good in fairness and sturdy

I love the look of the caravan! Seems like it's only available in the US and Aus at the moment, I wonder when it will be released over here.

Where did you manage to order the caravan from please? Smile

Apparently that shadowlands game is awful. Confusing and cheapy. But they may have improved it!

SparkyBlue · 08/10/2021 09:10

I was looking at the play sets as well. We have a Peppa pig house and a couple of other castles so can't justify the house. Not toy related but isn't it just the best kids programme on telly right now. The one outside the Chinese restaurant is just brilliant

We absolutely love it in our house. Aside from Duggee it's the only kids show I can really stand! The takeaway episode is brilliant, I think Grannies has got to be my favourite though Grin

I think Sleepytime is my favourite - the one with Bingo's dreams. It's just beautiful!! And the one in the garden centre... Think it's called Hammerbarn.

bippityboppitydo · 08/10/2021 09:34

My 3 year old absolutely loves playing with bluey's house, it's probably the one he plays with the most!

Verite1 · 08/10/2021 09:36

Sleepy time is beautiful. The bit with the mums voice made me cry! I love Bluey!

Yes I cry at a surprising amount of them. When the poodle's mum visits the mum in Baby Race and tells her she's doing a good job.... 😭😭😭 Every time!!!!
Bunnyvenom · 09/10/2021 07:40

The house is really good and we’ll worth it. The shadowlands game - the instructions remind me of Joey from Friends playing Bamboozle Grin it just seems so complicated we haven’t even played it yet. I’ll try post a photo…

My mum and dad have bought DD the bluey house and figures for her birthday, she's going to love it. After Duggee, I think Bluey is my favourite. I love the grannies episode.

Smeds · 09/10/2021 08:24

I'm thinking of getting the house for my 3yo too. Shame it doesn't come with the whole family though so I'll buy them separately.

There's a 5 in 1 card game aswell which is about £10 which looks good. Perhaps a better option than the boardgame? I think i saw on Amazon a Where's Bluey book, like a Where's Wally book. My DD would enjoy that.

Haudyourwheesht · 09/10/2021 09:19

I love the episode when Bingo just wants to sit in her relaxing chair at the BBQ and everyone keeps demanding salads. And the one where they call mum boring for trying to get them organised then go swimming and don't have any of their stuff.

I think I'll get DD figures for her Christmas just for myself.

rageagainstbing · 09/10/2021 10:01

Ah Christmas present inspiration, thank you!

Bluey has overtaken Duggee as the favourite in our house. I'd happily sit and watch it for hours.

My DD will tell me that "I'm just going for a nana nap, love" Grin

I totally had a nana nap this afternoon 😂😂

BreadmanAndCake · 31/10/2021 10:57

As a wee update, I've bought the bluey house and the heeler family car thing. Both look like they're going to be well enjoyed by my eldest!

I've put my order in via the in-laws. First thing I thought of when they asked what the kids would like. I can't wait to play with it 😂

My DD has started calling me 'babe' in Bingo's grown up voice. I can't say I hate it, it's pretty funny. Plus she's going to bed better after the sleepy time episode. She wants to sleep like a big girl, Bingo seems to be her current idol which could be worse. Thank fuck it's not Peppa.

Shufflebumnessie · 31/10/2021 21:30

DD is 4 and grandparents are getting her the house for Christmas, it gets pretty positive reviews. Also getting a pack of family/friends figures (mostly to get Chilli).

I am really hoping they release the swimming pool set in the UK soon and I love it know DD would love it!
