Ok I will try and keep this as short as possible.
My mum and dad have always gone mad on the kids at Christmas ,my mum really loves this time of year and goes all out.
However this year my Dad has found it hard to find work (he's an asbestos stripper) and my mum had her hours cut at work.

Anyway she has invited us for Christmas dinner as she feels terrible that she hasn't got the kids much I've told her it dosen't matter and everything but she seems really down.

However I have almost done the DC shopping do you think she would be offended if I gave her one of the presents I had bought for each of my DC for her to wrap up and give to them.

I dont want her to feel I'm been bossy by saying they must have something to unwrap 'cos I'm not I just know that on Christmas day it's going to be hard for her when we go up.

Hope I've made this easy to understand lol

Your children will not mind what they get from your parents, being with them will be enough at Christmas, I'm sure.

You could say you have a couple of spare pressies if she wants to bulk hers out a bit, but I really don't think you need to.

Nice gesture though.

I would say that's a great idea. Just be careful how you approach her though, as you don't want her to take offence.
Good luck!
