I'm sure I'm not the only one harbouring the odd Scrooge like thought at the moment.

My main ones
it's too wierd thinking about christmas in the middle of summer here in the southern hemisphere

we don't need any more stuff so why am I buying it?

why is everyone festooning their houses in lights.. what baout the planet?

can i join. Now im not sure if i'm scrooge like but i do resent xmas a little bit. I love to indulge my children and the people i love and care about. But what pisses me off is the pressure. The having to buy SOMETHING for people, lke parents and inlaws etc. So you end up buying them stuff you don't really want to buy and they probably don'r really want, being forced into paying more money for your groceries (im sure the shops put the prices up!) and buying stuff you just dont need for one day!!

But, i do LOVE XMAS i just wish that i didnt have to fight my way through department stores full of toot to get what i want for people.

I wonder about the lights too, it would be interesting to read the statistics for electricity use at this time of year. I mean, our street looks like something out of National LAmpoons Xmas Vacation. BUT, yes, that word again DD loves it

It's not that I don't like Christmas, but the sheer effort of it all is overwhelming.

My complaint....

If it's cheap enough, I've already bought it

If it's not cheap, why would I expect someone else to buy it for me?

I spend money I could be using to buy the more expensive thing(s) I do want on buying various presents for family and friends who don't need the cheap tat I can afford buy them. Is there a winning situation here? No.
