@EvilHerbivore & @psuedocream3 I just read you posts about Black Friday at the end of November. Do you guys wait till then to order stuff? I have a few bigger items to get, and I'd love to get them in a deal, but waiting till November scares me a little.

Problem with black Friday is it isn't always the deal you think it is. Prices tend to rise before hand then drop in a 'deal' and it's the same price as before

Legally shops have to advertise items at the higher price for a certain number of days before dropping them (hence why on places like superdrug sometimes you can find their Christmas stock in August if you search gift but not Christmas).

Personally I take note of the price now and see if it rises before black Friday. If it does then it will be back to the lower price as a deal.

@happytobemrsg I'm here to not recommend the dualit frother (although it would be over budget anyway) because I don't think it will get anywhere near hot enough for your mum. Generally I find I can drink my lattes straight away with this. It's a fantastic frother but not for those who like properly hot drinks. Mentioning this here as it's often recommended because it is very good in all other respects.

Gosh, that trumps mine @oreocrumbs. Argos must like you more than me, as they wanted me to spend £80 or more for the free delivery.

I got one in Aldi in their special buys last year, we use it loads. However it doesn't get scalding but pretty hot! Think I paid £19.99. Lidl also do them sometimes.

I just bought this metal detecter on amazon lightning buys for £59.95. Has fantastic reviews. DH has wanted one for ages and I think dd2 would enjoy it too, so it's going to be a family gift from Santa to get us out and about treasure hunting!!
