He's 4, and in love with the things Cheapest one I've seen so far is £11, and not very robust.

I know it's over budget by ... well ... a lot ... but it's so cool!

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 05/12/2007 23:21

Thats exactly what we 'ned'. But even if I was a millionaire, I wouldnt spend £10 on the principle that it'll get broken by one of the ds's at some point.

don't let dh see. he'll want one for himself. in fact, now I think about it do you reckon they'd be any good for getting rid of the neighbour's cat?

TenLordsaLapin · 05/12/2007 23:22

How about buy him some Knex and get him to build his own?

coldtits · 05/12/2007 23:24

I bet you could make one. Get him some balsa wood, pushpins and laggy bands. He won't break one he's made!

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 05/12/2007 23:28

Hmmm. Hewont manage that alone at age 4; would love to do it with his Daddy as a boys afternoon thing, but I can just see the faffing about and planning and taking-over from dh Oh, and it has to be ds2 proof too (22 months); ds1 would treasure it, but ds2 is a whirlwind.

saltirehangingonachristmastree · 06/12/2007 08:05

Do you not have a military museum nearby? I'm certain I saw one in one of the museum shops near here, but can't remember which one.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 06/12/2007 08:16

lol - knew this thread would be you! Thought your dad was going to get this?

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 06/12/2007 09:12

Well, he hasnt !!
Like the playmobil as it'd go with some of his other bits, but I think he really wants something more realistic.

hmm, can do a catapult for £4.99

www.wonderlandmodels.com/Red-Catapult-productx63439.html (but doubtless he is picky about his siege engines (voice of experience following "I want Santa to bring a messerschmitt and a bleriot" request).......)

or the toy van trebuchet on sale for £8.99 www.wonderlandmodels.com/Trebuchet-productx401913.html

Iota · 06/12/2007 12:06
