Hi all,

Shopping is well underway in Chez Hag - but stuck for my goddaughter. She’ll be just over 2 and a lucky girl who gets a lot off everyone.

I want to only buy one item, that won’t take up excessive amounts of space and the budget is around £50-60. Any good suggestions? Prefer not to get experience gifts (as the other children have got something else) and regular clothing/shoes.

I did think of a dressing up chest but haven’t spotted anything in budget that looks smart. She’s starting to enjoy imagination play now, and has a kitchen set that has a tea set and play food etc that she enjoys.

My dds loved dressing up at that age.

Going on what others have said, a decent doctors set or vet kit was a favourite. Real stethoscope so she can actually hear heartbeats. Could pair with a costume, a personalised lanyard with her picture on. A clipboard. Maybe a book about the body if theres some budget left, the usbourne look inside ones are good for that age.
Or if vets are more her thing, a cuddly toy and a book on her favourite animal.
Chuck in some actual bandages, plasters and she will be busy for ages!!

Oh just thought, the kiddizoom camera. My dds loved it. And looking back we have some brilliant (if a little unflattering) photos of family.
Also has little games to play on there using the photos too.

They also really liked a CD player with disney cds, story cds. I dont know if its a little outdated now with more people having alexa in their house.

Some good ideas - really trying to stick to one purchase and not have to buy lots of bits - so I’ve actually settled on Duplo.

Thank you!

Are people really spending £60 on 'godchildren'?

I would be honestly quite annoyed at that much being spent as it seems like your trying to 'outdo' the parent's gift + if she is already getting loads why would you add even more in with a big expensive gift.

Hi,
My son got Melissa and Doug dress up hat box, in it was 5 hats, a pirate, fire persons helmet etc. I think you can get other ones too. It was a cardboard box so doesn't keep forever, but the hats are used on a daily basis. It was about 25 euro so maybe 20 pound
