We are thinking about caving and getting DS a Switch for his December birthday. We were going to buy the Lite, as we sonny have a TV, but now wondering whether we be better to get the console anyway. Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on this please? That is, on which is better handheld, not on us not having a TV).

It depends on which games you’re interested in. The Labo games are absolutely brilliant quality play where you build and use cardboard periferals. They’re very much unique to the Switch and wouldn’t work with Switch Lite.

We have a switch and never use it with the tv but it means we can take the controllers off and use the screen with 2 players

Thank-you so much MrsPluto & DaisyDozyDee. The Labo looks really cool, so may for the Switch just to add that on.

I came on to say the same as MrsPluto

Actually, DH has just been reading up in the OLED and decided to pre-order that.

Can I ask another question, though? What accessories/ add-one do we need? We have ordered a case and screen protector and will ask grandparents for games.

If it's going to be used by the family and need more than 2 players at once you may as well buy another pair of controllers and the charger for the controllers you can plug in.

My son loves the steering wheels for Mariokart so they are probably worth it too.
