I had amazing advice about guitar pedals here last year so was hoping that someone might know about guitar maintenance kits.

DS plays electric guitar and bass. He does his own maintenance using DH's tool kit but I wondered if something like this would have everything he might need all in one place. Is there a particular kit that's better than the others?

Sorry, I can’t help but I love the idea. My DS plays electric guitar too. He doesn’t do much in the way of maintenance but he should probably learn! If it’s not too much trouble to find, would you mind linking your previous thread about pedals? I’m playing with the idea of getting one for him this year. What did you go for in the end and would you recommend?

@CoffeeChocolateWine

Sorry, I can't link to the post as I'm on the app. It's called "Guitar pedal help for the clueless" and it was started mid November last year in the Christmas topic. I didn't start the post but the advice was very timely as DS had just started talking about pedals

I'll need to check with DS what pedals I bought. I think there were three he wanted - one was definitely a wah pedal (and following advice on the thread I got a separate power cable) from Gear 4 Music. I also bought a pedal board.

Thanks so much. Found the previous thread. Will post it here just in case it’s helpful for others… www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/4080111-Guitar-pedal-help-for-the-clueless

Bought the following last year, as gift for someone who plays both accoustic and electric:

Repair and Maintenance Guide

and

Repair Tool Set

They were very much appreciated.

Thank you @butterflymum Good to have a recommendation and know that this sort of thing isn't a gimmicky present and is well received.

Had already decided on purchase, when shortly afterwards, I heard intended recipient explain to another family member, the problems they had had repairing their electric guitar with tools that were too big for the job. Hence knowing they would likely go down well, which they did.

Oops, should read "too big for and/or not intended for the job".
