No advice as to what to buy but definitely sign up to all the email alerts, watch out for Boots gift of the week and 3 for 2, Black Friday offers on many shops at the end of November, collect points from Boots and supermarkets to spend.

I'm sure someone will have better suggestions, you sound like a lovely mum

Also keep an eye on boots £10 Tuesdays if they like cosmetics and toiletries, today we're No7 sets st £10 instead of £35 I imagine at those ages they wouldn't want No7 but they might have other brands on different weeks.

Make a hamper on a theme, like a movie night hamper; popcorn, face masks, fluffy socks, primark pj's etc. A pamper hamper, wilkos do a plastic bath next to their bath bombs that is just a couple of pound and fill it with bathbombs, bubble bath, body sponge all a £1 or 2, but for under a tenner looks a decent size and makes a lovely gift. Primark, home bargains are good for bits too. And defo keep an eye on the bargain thread too. If it were me I'd get one decent item, like an Alexa , or camera (Amazon black Friday deals and a few bits like pj's, books, smellies, sweets and a small lego set etc.

*bargain threads on here - literally hundreds of ideas every day x
*Boots £10 Tuesdays
*boots 3 for 2
*primark bargains! Especially if they like disney, Harry potter, gaming etc. Primark also do bath bombs for £1 and nice perfumes.
*many skincare, hair and beauty products can be bought from places like poundland and you could easily make a hamper for a few quid eg. Pamper hamper or a movie night in - dvd, popcorn, facemask/ nailvarnish etc.
*everything5pounds.com is great for clothing and shoes
*toysforapound.com lots of branded toys, figures and funko pops
*new look, river island, h&m etc are all having sales now
*tesco club card offers - allows you to buy most toys and gifts cheaper than if u didn't use it.
*the works offers - 2 for £10 gifting, 3 books for £5, and so on.
*argos 2 for 15 and also argos clearance is definitely good for bargain hunting.
*hmv usually has good variety in 2 for £15 dvds, and low price cds and blu Ray offers as well. Tesco does 2 for £8 dvd offers too.
*home bargains and b&m usually have lovely sets and gifts for Xmas.
*if you browse YouTube for things like b&m stocking fillers/home bargains etc. there's several YouTubers who do hauls and challenges like £20 stocking fillers from a variety of shops. If you watch ones from last year and 2019 it gives you some ideas. Also browse things like poundland hampers they'll show you how to do different themes for so like a fiver.

Mrsfussypants1 · 15/09/2021 22:42

The works, they have some fab creative sets 2 for £15 I think, lots of different craft/drawing sets. Oh and nice matching stationary sets are inexpensive and popular with teens. Big hit with our neice (similar age) was a scrap book set I put together with bits like washy tape etc.

mamatoTails · 16/09/2021 08:05

I think a £100 each is a brilliant amount. I usually budget £120, and it does got further than you think.

Think you've had some great ideas already!

I'd definitely go to Primark and then have a good look at other places for Make up if that's what they are into. You've lots of time to get some good bargains.

ohmyohmy123 · 16/09/2021 13:02

Facebook has a group called bargain hunters don't get stuffed by Christmas. I've got loads so far such as exploding kittens game for £5, Superdry t shirt for £5.99 etc.

You can get loads of small things half price.

Have they got echo shows? They are usually half price around Xmas and are a good present.

furstivetreats · 16/09/2021 13:15

Ebay! Plenty of new unwanted stuff on there, and second hand too if that wouldn't be a problem for them.

Lovemusic33 · 16/09/2021 14:53

I fake oodie from dunelm? They are £16, just bought one for my daughter, will look big wrapped up under the tree as she hasn’t asked for much this year, she’s at the age where she just wants cash 🤣. Maybe a board game/card game? Books? New clothes/trainers.

I don’t really have a budget as such but am trying to keep it simple this year as so many times I get carried away and things don’t get used or played with. I would rather buy 2 things they really want and not buy as much tat. We do stockings which probably cost around £20 each, my dd1 says the stocking is the best bit so this year I might spend more on the stocking and less on bigger gifts.

Poppins17 · 16/09/2021 15:03

Definitely check out home bargains and B&M! They have some great finds sometimes… I’ve found physicians cosmetics in home bargains for £1.99 and the same stuff has been on sale in boots for £15!

MeredithMae · 16/09/2021 19:55

Fake Oodies would be great- the Sienna one from amazon is really good and around £20. I also recommend primark for Disney things, pjs, bags etc.

73kittycat73 · 16/09/2021 20:10

For shoes and clothing, www.everythingfivepounds.com

73kittycat73 · 16/09/2021 20:11

Sorry, don't try that link! It's this one: www.everything5pounds.com Sorry about that! Blush

When Amazon has Black Friday their 7" Fire tablet goes down to £29.99 each. They are good for watching the catch up programmes/films on BBC iPlayer, ITV hub, Channel 4 on demand.

Depending what other streaming services you are signed up to, you can also watch Disney+, Netflix, Prime Video.

Note: You cannot get the YouTube app on Amazon fire devices. (As far as I am aware)

Magicgal11 · 16/09/2021 22:43

Thanks all so much great ideas ❤️

My dd is going to be 13 at Christmas.

I've been scouring charity shops and Facebook marketplace. I bought a brand new Logo game for £1.99, a few dvds for 99p. I picked up a few arty bits from Olio (app where people give away things for free).

We have been given a TV, which is her birthday gift, then a family member who no longer uses their ps4 gave it to us, so we are wrapping that up with a few second hand games for Christmas.

So my advice, look out second hand or free to get the most for your money.

Shein is great for small gifts, stocking fillers, clothes and bits for their room. Ive ordered dd pin badges, a bag, fidget toys very cheaply.

Maybe follow the bargain thread on here, loads of bargains posted everyday.

If they are into art or cute things look up kawaii on ebay. Or I use blippo. Dd1 loves anything Japanese or anime.

Our other idea this year is to give small gifts relating to a day out the following year. So a bag of 2p coins and a postcard for a trip to the pier, some clay as a clue for a trip to madam tuessords, a sweetie pizza for a trip to their favourite pizza place. We are using clubcard vouchers for the big days out. Hoping to do a day out once a month and haven't decided on all of them yet but probably 1 theme park, a zoo, a castle, museum. We always take our own lunch so days out are relatively cheap.

IggyAce · 18/09/2021 13:48

Primark are just launching their snuddie which is their version of an oodie my dd 14 is hoping to find one on her birthday shopping trip next week, they look great for £14.

Last year I did dd a large toiletry bag filled with beauty stuff, it was stuff I’d normally buy her anyway with a few nicer things. She loved it and this year has requested a tanning themed one.

Definitely come join the bargain thread, I’ve managed to get some great items for a bargain price. Also keep an eye on the vodaphone codes thread you can pick up some great treats for just the cost of postage such as Joe & Stephs popcorn or candy kittens.

Asj0405 · 18/09/2021 21:58
