I love my Christmas trees. I always do lots of different ones. I’m looking for some creative and fun ideas for this year, I’m in a smaller house this year so won’t be able to do lots and I want to do something new. My main one will be rose blush and gold as I bought lots of new decs last year and want to add to that this year. I’d love to see any pictures or ideas you have as my one last year was a bit lacking.

I aldo want to do a couple of crazy ones, I was thinking an elf themed one and something else. Dose anyone have any fun ideas?

In the past I’ve done Harry Potter, Star Wars, Frozen so like something new.

@Youseethethingis

I'm going elfy this year, a sea of red and white swirly whirly gumdrops, ideally Xmas Grin Finding it hard to find baubles sufficiently big and rowdy though. Maybe I'll have more luck when the shops are in full swing, should be in the next few weeks!
I think we are thinking along the same lines. I saw some big candy stripped decs on aliexpress last night. I’m just deciding if I want to take the risk of ordering them as delivery can be hit and miss.

Where did you get your fern leaves, @TwinsandTrifle? I was looking for some last year but couldn't find any I liked.

If you have so many boxes of spare decorations that don't get used, OP, why don't you use them for a rainbow tree where the colours move through the colours of the rainbow from top to bottom? It's an excuse for yet another tree...

@TwinsandTrifle

I think your gold and rose tree sounds beautiful. I also love the sound of the vintage pink tree.

I think you have to be careful with things like the elf and Grinch style trees as they were done to death about 5yrs ago, and just don't have the effect anymore.

Something I experimented with last year, was flowers and ferns. I, like you, have boxes and boxes of decs, so I can change the colour scheme each year, but I'm going to repeat last year as it looked really pretty. Jewel colours and large flowers and ferns. If I can find a pic I'll post.

Our dining tree is a woodland animal affair, glittery and snowy, DC love it, not my preference, but it's theirs.

My favourites after my current theme, were when the whole tree was red and gold with tonnes of bows, and when the whole thing was just clear iridescent baubles and stars. That looked pretty special.

I'm going to have to travel the camera roll now Xmas Grin

Thanks for posting a picture, you tree looks beautiful. Do you have any pictures of the last one you mention, the one with iridescent baubles? It sounds beautiful, would love to see it.
TwinsandTrifle · 15/09/2021 13:11

@cheshirecat they were from local garden centre, along with cream silk poinsettias, I'm not sure of brand, but they stock a lot of Gisela Graham, so perhaps that?

I do remember them being something Shock like £8 a frond. So I only bought a handful, the pic as you can see is quite sparse. In the post Christmas sales, they went down to £2.50 so I bought 12 more, and it will look a lot more bushy this year, fingers crossed.

I think the elf tree you've pictured is rather nice actually, as long as you can pull it off like that. I suppose it doesn't matter at all as long as your children like it, but the ones I've seen in real life have looked like this and this is being generous Xmas Grin

@TwinsandTrifle do you have a Dobbies near you? I know they have had them in the past. Also try other garden centres.

I’m fairly certain mine will end up like this lol 😂 my DDs won’t be able to help themselves messing with it.

Thanks, @ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS. Unfortunately not Sad

I've just had a look at Turtle Creek Lane.

OMG.

I don't know whether to be in awe, or horrified.

What a lot of pressure she must put on herself.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 15/09/2021 16:36

OMG WOW I’ve finally had a chance to look at Turtle Creek Lane too. Now if I had the money and house I would would be just like this. I’d find an excuse throughout the year to just constantly decorate in different themes 😍

I may regret this but I’m going to show my Christmas obsessed DDs it later 😆
