How do I explain DH dressing up as Santa?

A good friend of mine is having a party and had a santa lined up, but, he has cancelled leaving her panicking.

DH stepped in and said that he would do it, BUT dd1 (8) and dd2 (5) will obviously recognise him, what do I say or how do I explain.

DD thought it was great fun when her dad was Santa at her school - though he was virtually unrecognizable and only two of her friends spotted him. She knew he was just helping out, as Santa has lots of helpers in stores and schools. Also knew not to tell the other kids. (She was 6 at the time) The real Santa only comes on Christmas Eve.

santa is v busy this time of year and asks daddys around the world to help out.

you could even type a letter from him e.g.

to XXX

as you know i am very busy this time of year and am hoping you can lessen my workload by dressing up as me and handing out some presents etc etc.

love from,
fc
