Can anyone suggest ideas for a present for a 4 year old boy please? Budget around £40.

My 4yr old (last year) had the PJ mask HQ thing for Xmas and still loves it. It only comes with one car though so I bought the rest on FB market place.

It takes up quite a lot of room though as it's pretty big!

This year we're buying our 4 year old grandson an apron, chef's hat, safety knives and a children's cookery book, a proper one not a baking one, his mum is an excellent baker but a rotten cook. He loves helping out in t he kitchen and has been fascinated by cooking since he was a baby.

At that age, normal lego is good. There sets marked as 4+ - so are easier to build. Also dress up - spiderman costumes etc. Orchard do nice games and jigsaws. Imaginext also popular - batman stuff is good. We got a building and some characters and vehicles to play with. And play doh sets are always good. As is playmobile. Now ours are 7 and 9, it's all about the lego!

My almost 4 year old would adore this construction set: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001H3OX4I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_NAS0P4YQYNTZVASXSZJQ?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Or else, we have this already and the DC love it - Scoop and Learn ice cream cart
