Le Toy Van dolls house or cheaper?

I am getting my DD (3 years old) a dolls house for Christmas and was wondering whether the Le Toy Van was better than a cheaper alternative at e.g. Argos. I was looking at the Bay Tree house.

I had an Argos one for my son quite a few years ago and it was fine but did break after about 2 years. I don't mind paying the extra if it's much better quality. I don't have anywhere near me that sells them so I can see one to compare.

Thank you Smile

If they do them again this year the Aldi one is really very good value. The people are a bit odd and inflexible but that doesn't seem to put DD off!

@Heyha that's a good shout thank you.
We got lots of their wooden toys last year and they've held up pretty well

The Aldi wooden one is about £30 and has really stood the test of time with my 2 DC. They also do the furniture/figures in kits far cheaper than Le Toy Van

My son has the Tesco wooden cottage, it’s brilliant I’ve bought extra furniture for it but the house is beautiful I can’t believe it was only £50! It looks really expensive and I like the fact part of the roof lifts off to become a garden.

We had a lovely wooden one from Asda which I believe they still sell. They also had furniture packs. It was really well made and a fraction of the price of the Le Toy Van one.

I’ve had lots of Le Toy Van toys (houses, garages, washing machines, sinks, castles, airports, pirate ships… I could go on!) for my two and never found them to be particularly robust…. Something always breaks on them pretty quickly and I’ve sent a number of items back for replacements. I’d go with a cheaper alternative.

Aldi dolls house but we put nicer furniture and people in.

Thanks @piefacedClique that's really helpful and secretly what I wanted to hear Grin

We have lots of cheaper/supermarket brand wooden toys so I'll check some of the other recommendations out. Thanks everybody Smile

Same as PP, Aldi dolls house with Le toy van furniture.

I think we might end up upgrading the people (that sounds so wrong!!) this Christmas and maybe the furniture over time so I'll take a look at the Le Toy Van and co ones but secretly I'm really hoping it will end up being a Sylvanian families house in time 😂
