We would normally go to see the Snowman at the Sage (we would borrow some children as didn’t have our own pre-pandemic). Our DD will be 15 months in December and I wonder if she won’t be too young?
I am not sure if the Sage one is happening this year so I am looking at York Minster too. What do you think?

I took mine a couple of years ago the Birmingham rep version at Manchester opera House, think youngest was about 19 months, he loved it and concentrated really well for most of it. My then 3 year old sat with his hands over his eyes for most of it. I guess it depends on their personality to an extent.

Oh sorry is it the film you're thinking of? It's quite short isn't it, I think a 15 month old would enjoy that. We went to one at Chester cathedral with orchestra (gosh it sounds like I'm a bit snowman obsessed) kids were 8 months and 3 (he must have been 4 when we saw the stage show). So not really comparable ages to yours but it was fairly relaxed. Think 3 year old fixated on a hanger loop he found on my top at one point haha.

Honestly, probably a little bit young but if you enjoy it then you should absolutely go! I love the theatre and I took DS to baby concerts from around 11m and at 4 he loves the theatre. If you expose them then they learn how to behave, although any children’s show is slight carnage.

My then 18 month old enjoyed the film until he melted. Then the tears came. We put it back to the start and she was fine again. Most children just enjoy it so I think your little one may well enjoy it too.

The ending is pretty harrowing.
