What's the general thoughts on xmas gift for them? Do people still do this? Don't really wanna give cash but want to show appreciation as they are very sweet, ditto very good postie.
Any thoughts?

oh thanks, sorry just returned to find people had actually responded. Gave em a box of chocs last year, but beer sounds a good plan. Cheers all those with xmas cheer...and yeah I live in the provinces of course. Service with a smile...mostly

I never gave the binmen in Fife anything, for reasons well documented on here. However the binmen down here are great,a nd seem to completely ignore the fact that 22 houses have 28 bins between them . They empty the bin if the lid isn't shut, they don't take excess bags out and leave them on the street etc.

The postie however is getting feck all. I'm sur ehe takes my mail to eat it for supper or line his hamster cage

My dad works on the recycling bins and sometimes gets beer and chocolate left out for them. They do really appreciate it. Think I shall get some this year.

I live in London and tip postie, binmen and milkman with cash - it's an investment. Postie will sign things on my behalf and pop them through the box or hide in our designated hiding area (that's parcels not the postie , binmen take EVERYTHING.

Champagne to hairdresser - don't tip throughout the year because I hate it but bottles for him and "the girls". Gifts to babysitters...everyone really. Pays off really well and isn't forgotten.
