Hi all! The time has come again where I'm stuck into a diet, it's raining outside, and I'm dreaming of my December meal plan....

Wondering what are classic 'festive meals' for you? We are vegetarian but December is full of cheese boards, Brie and cranberry paninis and garlic bread and soup!

I’ve asked for Nigel Slater’s book Christmas Chronicles for my birthday next month, for some inspiration for lovely cosy winter meals.

In December we love to get plenty of the M&S party food in the freezer and have some on an evening with a glass of wine. Either that or a cheeseboard. We don’t do it any other time of year so it feels Christmassy to us.

We love our roasts and the extra veg that we don’t normally have is probably what makes it feel that bit more festive eg parsnips, sprouts, red cabbage.

Terry’s chocolate orange! Hot chocolates!
More indulgent breakfasts too with pastries.

We tend to have Thai food on Christmas Eve, it’s a nice alternative to the traditional food we have on Christmas Day and I find I’m craving something spicy by then.

I don't usually do a meal plan but I get an early pre-Christmas dinner shop shop in around the middle of the month and it just has extra treats and picky bits/party food in.

This year I also want to do a festive/seasonal meal plan with some lovely dishes. I want to cancel the party food and spend the money on lovely ingredients. I'm another who thanks to this board will be getting the Nigel Slater book so am looking forward to some good inspiration Halo

We never really do party food but I'm finding every year my savoury tooth grows a bit stronger so might have to this year Grin we have a tiny freezer though which tends to see us off!

How organised!!! I have no idea how many mouths I'm feeding, ranges from 2-6 day to day then Christmas could have 4 extra, even more if DD's have boyfriends. I've already had to book rooms at local hotel.

@gogohm haha I have it pretty easy, just me and the husband. Family lives so far away, no chance of visitors or visiting Smile
