dd has never really had specific interests and we're struggling for ideas for this year for her

so far we're thinking
adjustable roller skates and safety gear
Hot wheels track and Mario cars
Ukulele (dh is going to hate me for this one)

but, I was wondering, what was popular with your girls of a similar age last year please? she already has a decent scooter and bike, so those are on the back burner until she needs the next size up

Thanks in advance xx

Got my 5yo a elsa lego set and it has been great!

Lego. If you haven't already started off the collection, I advise you start off with the large box of creative bricks and a small set.
The box is great for storing more sets, they do all eventually get mixed up but lots of fun!

My nearly 6 year old loves Lego, last Christmas we bought her the Arandelle castle and for her upcoming birthday I think we'll go for the ice palace.

She also loves her Owleez (interactive flying owl toy), Melissa and Doug wooden stable and horses, art and craft stuff, play-doh and Kinetic sand. Board and card games too - her favourites are probably Enchanted Forest and Sleeping Queens.

Dd is older but I think she was @ 6 when we got her a kids karaoke machine. It was lots of fun and well used but consider buying earplugs for yourself Grin!

Art and craft stuff always went down well at that age - scrapbooking/card making, a big box of random craft bits, jewellery making kits, stationery and glitter pens. Also board games and jigsaw puzzles are great for keeping them entertained and off screens on dark evenings and wet weekends.

Lego has always been very popular in this house.
Lots of books if she enjoys reading.

My nieces who are similar age to your dd are especially into LOL dolls, Our Generation and Little live pets.

Over last few years my girls have wanted/got

Lots of LOLs - the big sets were the must haves between 5-8yo
Hatchimals
Our generation/designer friends dolls & playsets
Last year my 6yo desperately wanted a metal detector
Art set
Rainbocorn
Make your own jewellery sets
Barbies
Lego (HP & Lego friends)

Most years I give them the Smyths catalogue as soon as it comes out.

Big hit with mine was the designafriend dolls from Argos. Lots of nice outfits and not too expensive. Also crafty things, Smiggle crap Grin, board games - ticket to ride and labyrinth are really good.
