I'm sure I've seen a thread previously, but I tried to search and couldn't find it at all!

My DD will be 2 at Christmas, and a tradition I started for her was to get new festive books each year for advent or as Christmas gifts.

Can anyone suggest festive books they or their children have loved, and the ages you would recommend them for?

So far we have:
The night before Christmas (to read every Christmas Eve)
That's not my reindeer & that's not my robin
Little Miss Christmas
Santa's little helper - one of those personalised ones you get from a garden centre

And I've just ordered the picture book version of the Christmasaurus

The Smelly Sprout.
Very funny and -belly- heart-warming. Grin

An absolutely brilliant Christmas book is The Empty Stocking, by Richard Curtis. Bought it last year for Gdcs then 4 and 5, after a recommendation on MN.

Best for about 4+ I would think. But would heartily recommend it!

The Tomten and The Tomten and the Fox by Astrid Lindgren are lovely.

Other favourites not previously mentioned are:

Morris' Disappearing Bag
The Winter Bear
The Other Goose

Robert Salbuda does amazing pop up books, he does an amazing The Night Before Christmas as well as a few other Christmas themed ones.
