Trying to put a playlist together for family to listen to over the run up to Christmas. I don’t want to put all the usual radio Christmas songs on so I’m asking for your suggestions of songs that you don’t hear often but love to hear. I’ll start :-

Let it snow let it snow
I’ll be home for Christmas
Winter wonderland
Do you hear what I hear

Any suggestions are very welcome.

Ding dong merrily on high. Great to sing along to even though I can't sing!

These are good. I'd forgotten about 'Thank god it's Christmas'. I am going to have to look up some of the other songs as I've not heard of them.

FiloFaxx · 09/08/2021 22:03

Ooh following and I'll have loads to add when I look at my playlist I made last year!

If you like Do You Hear What I Hear I recommend the Pentatonix version with Whitney Houston. Actually look up Pentatonix they've got a few Christmas albums!

TranquilityofSolitude · 09/08/2021 22:10

Is that you, Santa Claus? Louis Armstrong
Puppies are forever, Sia. Not a classic by any means but never fails to make us laugh.

MerryPops · 09/08/2021 22:14

Oh gosh I could go on and on with this one! I have a tendency towards the bittersweet Xmas songs so I've thrown Sleigh Ride and Must Be Santa for a bit of pure joy as well Smile

Sleigh Ride - The Ronettes
Joy - Tracy Thorn
I believe in Father Christmas- Greg Lake
When the Thames Froze - Smith & Burrows
Sweet Bells - Kate Rusby
Must Be Santa - Bob Dylan

Thank you everyone. These are exactly what I wanted. A nice mixture too. I’m looking forward to listening to songs (on repeat) that because we don’t hear them often then I won’t get fed up. 🤣
