Hit me with your suggestions please! Lego is still popular here but not sure it will be after a few months at secondary. I've never been stuck for present ideas and of course she'll have a xmas list as well. What are you getting your 12 yr old dds or what have you given that was really well received?

My dd is desperate for an oodie

MrsMiddleMother · 30/07/2021 16:38

Dsd will be 12 in February, she's got a switch and phone, bike and scooter already. She's asked for a new switch game and loves lego and friends so we're going to get her the Central Perk set. That's as far as we've got so far

shash1982 · 30/07/2021 16:42

Eurgh, I'm struggling for ideas this year! She got a switch for her Birthday so probably a game for that & has just gotten into anime so have picked up a how to draw manga book.
Other than that I don't know!

BlueorOlive · 30/07/2021 18:50

The Central Perk set is a great idea!

11 1/2 last year and she got an ipad, oodie, pamper box

This year I'm thinking of getting her a reconditioned iPhone. She needs a new TV for her bedroom so I might ask her dad if he wants to get that

gonnabeok · 30/07/2021 19:05

Omg it's still JulyShock

Inmyownlittlecorner · 30/07/2021 19:05

DD turned 12 in May & we got her the central perk Lego set, a cheap Samsung phone, the hunger games book set & some hand painted converse from koko art.
On my list for Christmas is an Oodie, a bubble tea box, lights that are remote controlled to go around her room, a selfie light & a pair of Dr Martens I’ve bought in the sale!

toolazytothinkofausername · 31/07/2021 14:58

Shower speaker

Nearlyadoctor · 31/07/2021 16:45

Dd is now 14 but over the last couple of years hits have been:
An Oodie
MacBook ( bought the Christmas before the first lockdown so invaluable)
Lego Central Perk set
Colour changing light bulb
Hollister Gilly Hicks underwear
Calligraphy set
Pastel highlighters ( they go through loads at secondary)
Morphe eye shadow palette and brushes

This year my ideas so far are
Ghd hair straighteners
Kit Hit earrings

She also has the usual bits such as PJ’s, chocolates, a book or 2 plus a body shop advent calendar.

Nearlyadoctor · 31/07/2021 16:46

Kit Heath earrings that should say Confused

Room4onemore · 31/07/2021 17:03

My 12 year old has asked for an oodie and an iPhone 11 😂

WhatsMyNameGonnaBeNow · 31/07/2021 17:25

Dd will be 12 in October. I already have a list of possible gifts for her birthday and Christmas:

Fitbit
Hair straightener
Switch lite
Good colouring pencils
Morphe palette & brushes
Illuminated mirror
Stuff to add to her baking kit
LED initial
Cosmetic organiser
microwaveable plush. She’s still not too old for a cuddly toy Smile
Books, books and more books.

She’s not a demanding child and hasn’t asked for all these but she’s actually too easy to buy for. I see so many things and think Ooh dd would love that! Still, at least I can give suggestions to family when they ask for ideas.

DS will be 13. Probably a slightly better refurbed iPhone than the one he's had for the last year.

Big hits here have been anything science related. Got a little acrylic periodic table with tiny fragments of (most of) the elements inside. Posters from favourite shows. Phone accessories. Bizarrely a balloon modelling book and 100 balloons. He was gone all boxing day, emerging with "look, it's a panda" Grin

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 31/07/2021 19:00

DD I got a voucher for riding lessons which was a big hit for her 11th Christmas and s she's asked for more for her 12th birthday. I was also looking into the Young Drivers lessons, for Christmas. She has loads of 'stuff' and always says she doesn't want more but that may change when she starts high school.

Where did you get the periodic table from? I think my ds would love that.

Not sure how much this will help as my dd isn't into the usual stuff! But my dd is 12 (13 this year eekk)
Some hits last year - wireless headphones, notebooks and nice pens/pencils for drawing, books from her favourite horror game, a mystery box of clothes individually wrapped in tissue paper (kukubird leggings, qwertee tshirts), cuddly toys of her favourite horror game characters and pusheen the cat. Box of funko mystery minis (five nights at freddys), milk frother with fancy hot chocolate, all the trimmings and a new cup.

Ideas for this year so far, my hero academia cosplay outfit inc wig, my hero academia box of funko mystery minis, pin badges for her bag, posters for her wall, new bedding set, backpack, water bottle, lunch bag. Something baking related, shes obsessed with cooking and baking programmes on Netflix 😂

We are looking into more experiences this year, with corresponding gifts. Eg legoland with a small lego set/figure, madam tuessauds with a pack of modelling clay. (Aiming for 12 places as a joint gift for our girls 1 for each month!)..

Gifts we give every year - fleece blanket, drinks bottle, cuddly toy (this year is cats vs pickles shes obsessed!), snow globe.

I looked at those photo printers that don't use ink, but unsure if she will use it! Same with a TV for her room.

RainingZen · 02/08/2021 02:58

Last year my DD absolutely loved getting a plush duvet cover and pillow case. She said it was the best present she has ever, ever had!

stripedbananas · 02/08/2021 03:51

My DC loved their Oodies last year and wore them everyday for months.

TwinsandTrifle · 02/08/2021 19:54

@AZFell it was from Amazon. About £30 from memory. Give me a mo and I'll find the exact one...

TwinsandTrifle · 02/08/2021 20:25

This (I don't know how to link, but this is the title on Amazon)

£25.99
