DD2 is 8, and has just been told she needs to sort out her own shepherd costume for our school performance . Anyway, was wondering if anyone knows where you can get these from. Or suggestions for a make your own (although I am not very good at sewing )

if you go on-line and google "nativity costumes" there are these FABULOUS sites which send you costumes ready made and can be with you in a couple of days. I paid £7 for a Mary costume for my DD! And they even look handmade so you can act like a perfect seamstress in the playground!! Sorry, a bit over-excited to have found this site.

I thought the classic shepherd look was wearing a dressing gown with a teatowel on your head?

bobsmum · 27/11/2007 17:10

Mothercare (bigger branches) and Asda

I knew MNers would have some suggestions!

Id go for the cheap option of t-towel with some string around it, pair of trousers with dressing gown or one of your t-shirts and string tied around the middle.

Blandmum · 27/11/2007 18:29

tescos have them on sale atm

gigglewitch · 27/11/2007 18:29

asda full of them. and sheep, stars, you name it. tesco also have them but i think asda ones nicer (sorry tesco fans)
beats dressing gown, sandals and teatowel on head

drapey sheet with a hole cut out for head so it hangs long with a belt tied around his middle.
Tea towel stylishly folded and put around his head.

Thank you all. I got one from Asda today and dd2 loves it! Especially the shepherd's crook and sheep.
