Has anyone seen any advent candles this year?

Last year i got one (for about 50p!) in wilkinsons but they dont do them this year

a friend has seen them in hobby craft, 3 for £5 but i dont want 3 and i dont really want to spend a 'whole fiver' on them either...

have been browsing (rather than 'hunting') for one all of November but havent found any.

does anyone have an idea where i can get one and ideally ahve change from a couple of £?

we had a lovely independant stationary store down here in my local village... but the lady that ran it all her life retired and the shop is now closed

Could you perhaps use an ordinary pillar candle and stick little beads in/on it to mark the 4 sundays?

let it burn down to each bead before removing for the next week.

I do this and arrange some holly and ivy around the base to make it look more festive.

oxfam has them for £2.50

Garden centres are always a good bet- independent ones rather than homebase mind you. We get ours from our local one every year, about £1 ish.

I got ours at our Cathedral, they had 2 different sizes, think the smaller one (that I bought) was £2.50. The large one (which I REALLY wanted was £7.95)

I bought mine from an independent shop this weekend - usually I get one from John Lewis - but havent been in there this year. There seems to be less about though, I've been looking for a couple of weeks.

got mine on ebay .99p and 1.50 postage.

I bought one for my dad in the Christmas shop in Bluewater, was a couple of quid but came with a holder. Also saw them for about £1 in ILVA. Have you tried your local church shop?
