Where do you hide the stash?

I know some people want a walk in wardrobe but I dream of a walk in xmas closet with a key just for me lol.

Just curious where you hide your stashes ; the bargain threads are pretty active atm so I know people are stocking up now.

I had to declutter my bedroom today and ended up sorting out boxes of stuff as I wanted to put my daughters birthday stuff seperate to xmas stuff. I may have gone over board so she is totally done now for both lol managed to squish the boxes under the bed, just about.

Sons xmas stuff got rammed under as well and some boxes put at the bottom of my wardrobe as well. I may need to find somewhere else to stash xmas stuff for partner and family later on x

I've got a secret section in my fitted wardrobe that shouldn't really exist, but the odd shape of the room means we squared it off and created a hiding space for a couple of bodies! I also keep stuff in the boot of the car as it gets nearer to Christmas, usually smaller gifts and food I'm stocking up on so it doesn't get eaten. Presents for the in-laws get wrapped in December and straight in to the car as well, then stay there until we go on Xmas day.

DD is only 1 and has a big built in wardrobe so I currently stash presents in there. Not sure what I'll do as she gets older.

Three0fivepointfour · 11/07/2021 18:04

The laundry basket. No one ever looks in there.

JustKeep · 11/07/2021 18:28

Top shelf of my wardrobe in big storage baskets. Nobody has found it yet. Chocolate stash goes inside an empty muesli box in the cereals cupboard, it’s been there about 5 years and nobody has realised yet.

CarolinaWeeper · 11/07/2021 19:12

We have an ottoman bed so lots gets stored in there. Larger items usually go in the garage covered with an empty box or old dust sheet.

My parents put things inside their holiday suitcases in the loft.

17caterpillars1mouse · 11/07/2021 20:23

Mine is currently in a holdall in my wardrobe and a few bits at my mums. However when I get properly started I put it in empty suitcases, hidden in plain sight lol

I keep a list on my phone so I remember what I've got so far (currently only 6)

Landlubber2019 · 11/07/2021 20:25

We keep ours in the roof box in the garage

thelegohooverer · 11/07/2021 21:45

I have a very well organised attic with everything in labelled cardboard boxes. No one has twigged that some of the boxes with the dullest labels are empty.

I only told dh where things were hidden because I panicked last March and convinced myself I might be dead of covid by Christmas

He’s never really showed much surprise at the amount of stuff that mysteriously turned up in the living room every Christmas Eve so I’m afraid I may have accidentally ruined the magic for him it I suppose he had to learn the truth about Santa sometime Xmas Hmm

Tall lockers in work. I keep moaning that I've got nowhere to keep my stationery supplies and my boss rolls his eyes and says to use my lockers. Told him daft idea, where would I keep my Christmas stashHmm

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 11/07/2021 23:55

DH and I sleep in separate rooms (snores) so I hide them in the laundry basket in my room. As previously said by @Three0fivepointfour no one goes there! DS has his own laundry basket.
Also in the wardrobe I have shelves of jumpers pulled forward so I can stash stuff behind them. DS 13yr has never searched for anything so far.

FilthyforFirth · 12/07/2021 10:18

I keep mine in boxes in the loft. Every few weeks I send DH up to add to the growing stash! He moans but is quietly pleased when December rolls round and we just need to wrap!

I would love a more accesible place to stash but my house is extremely poor on the storage front...

Daisy829 · 12/07/2021 20:59

I got my DH to board out the loft recently for more storage & ive essentially taken over it with Xmas shopping. It’s a total game changer. We don’t have many hiding spaces in our house & we’ve got away with it until now but the eldest is 10 so needed to up my game.

FlamingGoat · 12/07/2021 21:09

I have a 1950s dining table which opens up in the middle to store stuff in. As there's only two of us it works 🤣

rach2713 · 12/07/2021 21:16

I have a single wardrobe in my room that gets rammed with presents and the rest go in the loft and by the start of November I start wrapping everything so I don't have to do it Xmas eve like I have done in the past and can go to be at a decent time lol

GameOfBones324 · 13/07/2021 16:40

We hide ours under the bed. Half of the bed lifts up for storage. We have never let DS see us open it up so he has no idea the bed lifts up. I know he might figure it out one day but right now it's the perfect place to hide christmas/birthday things! My parents used to hide Santa stuff in a suitcase. Never stumbled across it on my sneaky searches.

CiaoForNiao · 13/07/2021 16:46

Take the bottom drawers out. Put things in the gap (keeping it below drawer level). Put the drawers back in.
Ok so you can't fit tons of stuff, but no one will ever look there.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/07/2021 18:26

Top shelf of wardrobe too . Though my DC are 19 and 21 so they don't snoop and their presents tend to be the tiny and £ variety .

I do a Christmas Eve Hamper but it is given on December 1st .
A big Christmas Bag each (kept under DS bed )
Pyjamas robe, underwear , socks
Some toiletries for DS
Day 1 of DD Beauty Advent (I make this for her) which is a Nice One .
Some chocolate reindeer and an advent calender .

If its Christmas Food , I start a shelf in the pantry that they're not allowed to touch Xmas Grin

In boxes on top of my wardrobe. When I run out of space there then things are hidden in my mother's spare room

mam0918 · 28/07/2021 15:03

Just in my bedroom... Kids dont ever go in our bedroom and DH knows not to snoop.

Should say just on the floor in the corner of the bedroom (not 'hidden' at all, but I leave most in its postage box/packaging or in the carrier bag it came from the shop in so even if someone glanced it somehow they wouldnt know what it is).
Corneliusmurphy · 28/07/2021 15:09

Usually empty suitcases in the loft (handy to get everything down in one go as well) and the bottom of my wardrobe. I don’t have either spot available this year so I may have to be more creative...

Angel2702 · 28/07/2021 15:19

Big storage trunks in the loft.

irresistibleoverwhelm · 28/07/2021 18:21

I used to keep my diaries and any potentially embarrassing stuff here when I was a teenager. Darned younger teenage sister figured it out! 😩
Agadorsparticus · 28/07/2021 18:32

Usually in the loft but last year's mouse infestation left most wrapped gifts with nibbled corners.

ShowOfHands · 28/07/2021 18:37

Usually the roof of the garage but now we have a storage bed so I might put them in there this year.
