Is this a ridiculous thing to make for a 1 year old????

I want to give her something that will last and something where she can use her imagination....

I have bought a small metal suitacase and a very soft 'bunny' with long floppy ears. I have then put together some bedclothes in the form of a hot pink furry sheet and a purple blanket with hot pink furry spots on. Essentially bunny is in bed inside the suitcase!

I thought it would work on the imagination stakes and possibly come in to it's own in 6 months time or am I way off the mark?? Also - the tin will be useful for years to come for various things I thought.

sounds fine but like you said give it 6months

Sounds lovely, but will she be able to open and close the suitcase herself? They do love carrying things about once they can walk.

my dd is almost 14 months and making beds for her "babies" is something she's very into

sounds lovely

dd3's fave toys at the moment are dd1's lunchbox and dd1's reading folder - walks around carrying them, one in each hand, tis v cute!

babies do love to carry things around once they are toddling about

sounds lovely. one of the DC I minded (same age) loved that sort of thing. She adored having a bag or case with her and would have loved having it as a bunny bed too.
