We're being festive.

I like them but I do wish they were BANNED before December and taken down at the begining of January.

Shops seem to put them up in bloody August and by the time Christmas comes around, you're bored of them.

Far better to have a short window and recapture the festive season feeling, iyswim.

Yes. I LOVE christmas. I get very excited. Especially since I've had kids.

But shops want us to make Christmas last from the summer sales to the january sales. It takes the edge off it for me, tbh.

I think it's great people like Christmas (I don't, but whatever makes people happy is good IMHO). I just don't think we should suddenly jettison our green credentials and festoon our houses and our towns till they look like a crappy version of Vegas!

why should they be taken down before January - the 12th day of Christmas is in January.......

Well, axemurderer, imo Christmas lights should be up at Christmas and trick or treaters should ONLY come on halloweeen, not for the entire month of October

Fireworks should not be let off by kids in the street for 3 months solid (or at all actually). They should be used at organised displays mainly but people could buy them for their parties but they should have to sign for them when they buy them.

Quite right, they should be banned, Dh could lose his main income (a business selling er- lighting, DJ / Christmas etc) and then we could live off benefits and of course nobody who ahtes christmas lights would mind that at all.....

Or we could just live and let live? I REALLY ahte fireworks because of my cats / Sn kids, don't want them banned though as am not wanting other people to be miserable.

I LOVE them . They're fabby and cheerful and christmassy.
They make people feel happy and kids adore them.
