Please can I get some advice?
I want to do nigellas ham in coke but the ham I bought from the butcher is a green ham so not cured/smoked.

Do I need to boil the ham first for 20 mins to remove salt before immersing it in the coke to cook??

Thank you!!

I usually sit it in a pan of cold water (so it’s totally covered in water) and leave for as long as possible, preferably over night, change the water in the morning & let it sit in fresh water until it’s time to cook it.

We soak overnight, change the water, bring to the boil, simmer for about 20 min, then cook :)

Yes, I would soak it first or part boil in water before roasting. My ham said just roast in oven, which is what I did, it is cooked now, but way too salty.
