One day to go and what will be the shortest thread ever, no doubt, as we start all over again from tomorrow!

Thank you for the new thread fluffy. I think this is one of my favourite days of the year (even in tier 4).

Love Christmas Eve and all the anticipation. Have got the red cabbage out of the freezer. Need to strip and remake the beds so we have clean sheets for this evening. Going for a walk too as the sun has finally made an appearance!

Morning & Merry Christmas Eve

Last thread is now full - with 2 Muppets Christmas Carol pics for me and Neros

My veg was delivered by my dad this morning so I'm all set now. Not doing much today - DH is meeting his dad and sister so they can do a socially distanced walk with the dogs while I'll be at home doing a final clean / watching Christmas films / listening to Christmas music and eating
Then we have a family zoom this evening - all in all a fun, chilled out day.

M&S and Sainsbury's. So far no queue for sainsbury's (but also v little chilled food). I waited 5 mins for M&S and they had everything I needed. My last minute rush was to make sure I have everything for Christmas in July (or whenever) with DS.
Now home for a run and then it will be CHRISTMAS !

Morning, just having some scones (there was milk on the turn that needed using up) and the Christmas coffee before having a shower. Dd is moving but hasn't appeared down here yet (I hear an elephant thump as I type though).

I have a long list of things I'd like to do, but nothing that HAS to get done today. So we are going to mooch around and try to slow down. Might go for a walk in a while.

I'm drinking moscato while making the Hairy Bikers' cinnamon buns (albeit dairy-free). Hurrah for the dough hook on the KitchenAid!

I love Christmas Eve as well. I am going to track Santa on Norad even though I have no kids who watch it anymore. I am just drying my hair before commencing my baking frenzy and preparing the veg for tomorrow.

I've been to the bakery to collect my desserts for tomorrow and a small Christmas pudding fir Dh to eat tonight.
Going to make a small batch of mince pies fir Santa now.

Just had a bacon cooked properly in the oven and fried egg sandwich.
I see it's gone 11...may have to ferret for some 🍺
I think DH may be gearing up for a 😴 this afternoon...

In my effort to help crazy. I can report that I have been for a run, had lunch and relaxed with a book. The red cabbage is simmering in the slow cooker and things that need to defrost are in the fridge.
Next job is to make the chilli jam (finally).
As there are only 3 of us for lunch tomorrow, I will leave pealing vegetables until the morning.

I've done my Mrs Claus dropping off last of present drop offs, and got to the local shop for cream, ice cream and bagels (and managed to add another €100 into the basket, oops!) but had vouchers to use there too. Reduces my need to shop in Jan though.

And I multitasked earlier - I read my book for half an hour in the bath doing a deep conditioner on my hair, then cleaned the bathroom while it was steamy before I got dressed and put away my clothes as I was searching for something for to wear. So a few things ticked off and some relaxation too.

Dh has just realised "It's a wonderful life " is about to start, so that's our plan now!! Veg prep can wait 😂

I have rustled up some (amazing though I say so myself) cheese sauce for Cauliflower Cheese tomorrow . I can save half for brocilli cheese in a couple of days .

We've watched two of the Play That Goes Wrong programmes (Scrooge and Peter Pan) .
Wrapped the last of the presents , put things in the attic.

Need to transform the table now from DH Work Station to Dining Room Table again.

There's a thread about a poster wanting to go to M&S 15 minutes before closing to buy a Black Forest Gateau . Mix of admiration/ Are You Mad ? runs through my brain .

I just got a magic bag via too good to go from a cafe where I was working. I got: a coronation chicken baguette: three mine pie tarts; a flapjack; two chocolate brownies; a slice of lemon cake; two feta and broccoli parcels; a massive apple pastry thing and a giant fruit swirl pastry all for £3. I'm amazed

Good Afternoon everyone. Yayy Christmas Eve [santa] [santa]. Busy today as blitzed the house to within an inch of it's life. DC are picking up the fish and chips soon, hoping to peel the veg, wrap few last presents, fill the stockings and at some point sit down with a my Salted Caramel Baileys. We are watching Roald meets Beatrix later together and having a family zoom tomorrow so looking forward to it. Totally forgot to do the Frys Choc cream vodka definitely next year.

This morning we went to Tredegar House and DS waded through the massive flood puddles and had a great time. Came home to find the elves had left him a box of goodies!

At 5 we will go out to look at all the Christmas lights then back for Chinese take away, sprinkle reindeer food and put out the mince pie etc, a bath with his new bath bomb and then into bed in his new PJs with The Night Before Christmas as his bedtime story. Once he is asleep DH and I will ferry the gifts down before collapsing on the sofa with a glass of wine. Will probably watch the All Creatures Great and Small Christmas special :)

Amazing bargain there Wreck

I had my first Christmas dinner today (FIL cooked and DH brought it home). We all had dinner at the same time during a zoom call which was really nice. Now drinking Kir Royale and watching some random Christmas film.

We have another zoom call with other people later then I want to watch Muppets Christmas Carol and eat rubbish

Dc are in bed but not sleeping yet. We all got our new matching pjs on and had a buffet tea.

I dread to think what time they're going to wake up at in the morning.

Crazy I got to watch it earlier. Dc watched it too but we're a bit scared with the ghost of Christmas future.

Off to have a beer and mince pie. Then bring the presents done.

My DC won't surface till gone 10 bit of a change from when they were little and woke at 5am, excitedly opening their stocking gifts .
We put them both in the same bedroom so they could wake up together (they wouldn;t entertain that now )

I'm waiting for the dishwasher to finish so I can re load it , don't like leaving the kitchen manky overnight .
I'll peel the carrots and do the sprouts while I'm waiting .

Someone's just let off fireworks which woke dd. Luckily dh got to her before she made it downstairs. People can be such twats

We have had the Christmas Eve box (albeit half over zoom),nice supper and sparkling wine followed by Love Actually. We have just read 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' with DD, she put her stocking under the tree and left a meet nice pie and whisky for Father Christmas before going to bed.
