Erm I've bought a large turkey for three of us Blush but with plans for curries and pies etc to go in the freezer!

LadyLovelyLockz · 23/12/2020 08:43

We are having a turkey drumstick between the 3 of us (2 adults and a 7 yo). I'm planning to put it in the slow cooker in the morning, 5 hours on high and it will be perfect for lunch. I've also got a small ham, which was bought mainly with boxing day leftovers in mind!

Pigs in blankets are a given as well!

Definitely do chicken. Chicken goes really well with pigs in blankets on the side.

CarlottaValdez · 23/12/2020 08:45

Unfortunately I ordered and paid for a turkey to serve 8 before we went into tier 4 - so the three of us (2 adults and a 6 year old) will be having that! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Skipsurvey

that reminds me chestnut stuffing is my favourite, however it is made
Yes.... I always make 3-4 times the amount I think I need. A whole meal in itself.
Disfordarkchocolate · 23/12/2020 08:48

A fairly small chicken and some gammon. We'll eat the gammon and freeze some of the cooked chicken with gravy.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 23/12/2020 10:46

We’re having a very small turkey just for 2 - we like it, and none of it will be wasted - I always make stock from the carcass too.
Naturally there will be stuffing and pigs in blankets - I shall be making those today. 🎅🏻🎄

DioneTheDiabolist · 23/12/2020 10:54

We will be having duck with our pigs in blankets.

Skipsurvey · 23/12/2020 20:13

monty09 · 23/12/2020 20:31

I'm doing turkey in a tin from Iceland and lamb

Lovemusic33 · 23/12/2020 20:37

I bought a Turkey breast joint (just a massive breast) I’m going to attempt to cut it down the middle roll it with stuffing and wrap in bacon. There’s only 3 of us and one won’t be eating it but I wanted it for sandwiches as well as Xmas day.

sunbathingonthebeach · 23/12/2020 20:41

We got a turkey breast thing from m&s wrapped in bacon with stuffing, feeds ‘2-3’

goose1964 · 23/12/2020 22:46

We're having capon, aka a bloody great chicken. In the past we've had duck.

WeAllHaveWings · 23/12/2020 22:58

We have a m&s turkey crown to feed 6-8, a garnish pack to feed 8, and 3 desserts, all ordered early before circumstances changed, for just the 3 of us.

Looks like we'll be having 2 days of Christmas dinners! Or does turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets taste nice in a curry sauce?

DecemberDiana · 23/12/2020 23:00

Small turkey but we have teens and love turkey sandwiches.
