Usually go today (23rd) but can’t go till tomorrow this year (of all years!). We get there for opening at 7. If you went today/yesterday was everything needed for Christmas dinner still available?

Absolutely stacks of food

TheWitchwithNoName · 23/12/2020 07:19

I got there at 6 this morning (when my local M&S opened). It was fully stocked.

loopylou42 · 23/12/2020 07:20

I work in an M&S food hall....we have absolutely tons of stock

Ohdeariedear · 23/12/2020 07:21

I went yesterday and it was fine. Loads of stock.

Destinysdaughter · 23/12/2020 07:22

Went yesterday, was loads of food and lots of things reduced in price.

Whattimeisdinner · 23/12/2020 07:24

I went yesterday around 2pm.
The shelves were very full and being re-stocked constantly (I feel sorry for staff trying to do this whilst shoppers are in the store).
No queue when I went in but longish queue when I left.
It is a medium sized, stand-alone store. I know from experience that bigger stores are horrendous at this time of year but they are limiting entry so that cuts out the pushing and shoving.
Your only problem might be a bit of a queue.

Alakazam8 · 23/12/2020 07:31

Brilliant thanks so we should be fine. Thanks for putting my mind at rest. Thanks for responding so quickly too!

I went to M&S yesterday around mid day and everything was stacked to capacity. Got everything needed and they had plenty of store assistants going round replacing anything people were taking. You'll probably be one of the lucky ones that gets all the reduced in date bargains as you have left it. M&S are fab at giving massive reductions on in date food just before they close for Xmas

ihearttc · 23/12/2020 08:19

We went yesterday. No queue to get in, lots of space and tons of food. Got everything I needed apart from brandy butter which seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth!

Bearsbearsbears40 · 23/12/2020 08:27

Yes, when I went yesterday morning my local store had so much on the shelves and it was constantly being restocked. Interestingly I got there at 6.15am and there was a queue to get in (no more than 10 mins), but when I left at about 7 there was no queue at all.

Bearsbearsbears40 · 23/12/2020 08:30

If you have Twitter search for Richy Craven and read his thread (pinned tweet) about working at M&S and the staff getting Christmas Eve discounted food as there’s so much!

Toomanycats99 · 23/12/2020 08:31

I went yesterday morning about 8am. No queues. Lots of stock. So much so I did some food hall shopping and paid then got my order to collect and then back to food hall for something I forgot.

It was slightly busier by time I left it still no queues even for the food to order pickup.

SallyCinnamon3009 · 23/12/2020 08:32

Went yesterday about 8:30qm. Not too busy and had everything i needed

Notonthestairs · 23/12/2020 08:33

Popped in yesterday lunchtime for milk - moderately busy, plenty of everything.

Whattimeisdinner · 23/12/2020 08:40

Bearsbearsbears40

I’m glad they do this for their staff.
They also give a ton of food to food cafes.
I think they have over ordered for a good few years now. Which is not good.
I hate food waste.

LookingAfterLittleArfur · 23/12/2020 09:30

Check their opening times. Our M&S food hall is open until midnight.
We have a slot at Booths to pick up the turkey tonight 22.00 - 22.30 so I’ll pop into M&S then.
I just hope there’s something left Xmas Grin
