DD and DS have a stocking filled each from Father Christmas (probably around 10 small gifts, like a kaleidoscope, pens, dvd etc), a main present each from us (think outdoor toy, something that they each asked for), a cuddly toy and a stack of books. I'm feeling down that they won't get half the gifts that are intended for them on Christmas day due to not being allowed to travel to where most of our family live. Some of those gifts are things DD has specifically asked for, it took her a while to think of ideas and whilst I don't know that she'll miss them I'm worried it won't look like they're getting much.

What can I buy that will arrive by Christmas Eve for a 2 year old and a 7 year old? I know it's not about the gifts, I just want to raise our spirits somehow. I'm happy for it to be a joint gift but its hard to find things that would suit both of them.

A board game each? It’s something to play with/ do on the day and there’s plenty on Amazon or in Supermarkets to choose from.

I have just twitched for dd2, I’m worried we will be in lockdown straight after Christmas so she won’t be able to go to her favourite shop to spend her Christmas money, she doesn’t get gifts from family, just cash. I wanted to make sure she has a few things to keep her amused if schools go back later than planned so I bought her another Lego set, she wanted mario lego but I couldn’t find the starter set (the rest is no good without the starter set).

So, I would go for something that will keep them entertained over Christmas and winter, a board game if they like playing them or craft kits? Maybe some kind of play set for the 2 year old?

At this stage I'd order whatever you decide on by click and collect.

Board game such as Labyrinth or Monopoly for the 7 yr old, or card games like Dobble, Uno or Jumbalup.

Orchard Games for the younger one - we loved the spider one and the shopping list one.

Marble run as a joint present? Ours got played with loads at those ages.

Play doh sets for the younger one?
