Something for Dad's work??

Hi All
My Dad has worked in the same section of our local council for years. He works in the department that deals with lorry driving and refuse collection. He's a lorry driver but he's also a foreman.

A few months ago, he sadly had a life changing stroke. He's 53 so it's tragic.

One of the Men he works with just put an envelope through my Mum and Dads door with a card and a very generous whip round. My Mum is obviously so touched and very emotional!

The best workers finish on Christmas Eve at 1 and my Mum would like to pop something up that they can all share but is unsure as to what! I should've mentioned, they're in Scotland so not Tier 4!

As my Dad is unable to talk, we're not sure what to hand in, boxes of sweets? A few crates of beer? There's about 20 men.

Do any of you Christmas gurus have any ideas?

Thanks! Xmas Smile

They certainly sound like the best workers Smile I think pretty much anything would be appreciated - could do a mix of beer and chocolate? Covers most bases!

Mince pies and cream

Or could do a delivery of hot sausage rolls/cakes.

I think a selection of cakes, sweets and chocolate would be a lovely thought and very well received. Beer is always tricky due to individual tastes (Carling vs Guinness etc etc).

Is there anything your dad is “known” for? A particular food/drink item? That would be a nice personal touch.

Thanks for the great suggestions! We've opted for a HUGE order of warm sausage rolls from the local bakery and 6 boxes of roses...,probably overkill but who cares?

That is lovely, on all counts!

Excellent! I’m sure it will be very much appreciated Flowers

OP, that's a lovely gesture and will be well appreciated, I'm sure. 🙂

They sound like great work colleagues and I bet they miss your Dad.
