I've always been a boiler... but this year have discovered the delights of roast vegetables and am considering roasting it all this year.

How do you do yours? Boil, steam, roast?

Anyone eat raw? When I was a kid I always insisted on raw carrots with my roast Hmm

Never ever boil!
Steam greens, roast roots, fry cabbage.

Roast potatoes
Steam the other veg

Roast potatoes and parsnips
Boiled sprouts
Carrot and swede mash
And a 'ready meal' portion of red cabbage. I used to make it (a lovely recipe with spices and red wine) but eventually realised that this was a waste of time as I'm the only person who eats it!

Boiling veg to death just looses nutrients! The only veg I boil are potatoes for mash, or prior to roasting.

I mainly roast for say a Sunday roast, but also have a steamer. It has a saucepan at the botton, then 2 tiers to steam veg on top. Saves electric/gas as only needs 1 cook top. I usually steam peas, corn, spinach, broccoli/ cauli, leeks and the rest (mainly root veg) is roasted.

Roast and mash potatoes
Steam veg. I have a three tier steamer and it saves on hob space.

Roast potatoes
Roast parsnips with Parmesan
Raw carrots (kids!)
Braised red cabbage
Cheesy leeks
Yorkies

I have a fussy DD who will only eat raw carrots! Or broccoli barely cooked with cheese sauce. I don't usually pander, but Christmas and all that!!

Par boil roasties
Use roastie water for sprouts
Then the runner beans
Reserve water for the gravy
(I put the green veg into a serving and micro blast just before lunch)
Chantenay carrots in a v small casserole dish with a know of butter, tsp of sugar, pinch of salt and a tbs of water. In oven for about 80 minutes.

Mainly steam as its healthier.

Parboil and roast tatties.
Steam carrots for my children who don't like roast veg.
Roast carrots for us
Roast onion
Steam broccoli
Boil frozen peas

Think that covers it. Not bothering with parsnip or cabbage this year.
