Oh god, I’ve over done it.

Has anyone ever started early, felt really proud of them for having it together, then come
December pulled everything out and felt a little bit of shame?

I have one child. Just one. And enough presents for half of England. Is she going to be a brat? Overwhelmed?

What are your experiences? Any advice? (Other than to get a grip and stop buying toys!!)

Don’t worry hun just enjoy your Christmas. You can spoil a child occasionally without then becoming spoilt eg a complete brat. I have teenagers and a 10 year old and they’ve been a bit spoilt some years, not so much this year, but they’ve never come to expect loads and I haven’t raised them in a way to just expect it either. They do well out of Christmas like I said but the way I see it is a parent could buy a kid say 5 presents and that dc could act out because they didn’t get exactly what they wanted. Another child could get a massive pile of presents yet appreciate every single they get.

Too much here as we usually incorporate a holiday but not this year ! Fuck it it’s been a blood your shit year or just put half away .. I usually do 10 gifts & a stocking but I’ve gone over by an extra 6 per kid ..at least 🙈 in my defense I did get almost everything half price ... we did our toy shop for the food bank which we do every year and my daughter mentioned how much she’d like a couple of the new lol dolls .. when they were not on her list so I twitched And got some then my youngest dropped and smashed his tablet so I got another it’s been spiraling so I’m going to stay off amazon Andrew when I put things out if it’s ridiculous then I’m putting stuff away for birthdays x
