Last Minute Chistmas Dinner Scramble?!

Inspired by the Turkey leftover thread on here as I like many have the opposite problem - was planning on spending Christmas with mum and sister as my dad died this month. Therefore, have lots of festive treats in but no Christmas dinner stuff.

Will there be chaos in the supermarkets or will it be largely the same do you think? We are not getting a Turkey so more worried about the veg!

Get down to your local supermarket as soon as it opens today. You’ll be fine.

They usually stack veg to the roof at Christmas! I probably wouldn't want to leave it too late though. If you're near Aldi, carrots, sprouts and red cabbage are 14p each.

Probably 🙈 Tesco was mental last night

It's always a bit of a hellish week in the supermarkets. I would guess today might be a bit panicky buyers who have had to change plans but I don't think they'll be an issue with supplies as it's a week supermarkets know is always crazy and people always q from stupid o'clock and full their trolleys like it's the apocalypse so it won't be any different than it normally is when the shops close for Xmas every year

There will no doubt be unhelpful press reports about this conveniently forgetting that it's the busiest week for the supermarkets regardless of pandemics and lockdowns

I'm already seeing posts on social media about people getting ready to go out and panic buy their Christmas dinner.

The supermarkets will be carnage by us because they're the only shops left open.

I did go and get a turkey, cranberries, sprouts etc yesterday after announcement because I didn't trust my online order on 22nd to be complete.
