Anyone else’s kids lists just full of rubbish?

There’s only a handful of actual suitable things on their list, some of which I’ve bought and some I haven’t.

I feel bad they aren’t getting much from their lists but most of the things they knew Santa wouldn’t bring.

Why won't you get them what's on their lists? Is it due to budget constraints? If so, then fair enough but if not, I'd just get them what they wanted

Sorry! Should have said things like a holiday to X Place, X Pet etc. Daft things that Santa can’t bring! There’s very few suitable items on the lists

This is why I work through their lists with them. I limit how much they can put on their lists and ask the questions like, do you think Santa can really bring that, or if Santa could bring x or y which would you prefer, ok it’s y so put that first.. I also say, Santa’s really busy and can’t always get everything you want but if he can’t, is there anything else you’d like. I remind them about things they have liked previously (that I’ve already got).

I also tell them mums and dads do talk to Santa which is why they didn’t get x last year because we told Santa we wanted to get it for their birthday, when my DCs asked for electric ride on’s I told them outright no Santa won’t bring those because we don’t have a big garden or anywhere to keep them.
