They are everywhere, every gift is personalised. I cannot think of a single gift that can be made better by sticking someones name on it unless it's a child.

I mostly agree about the names, but my DM loves her keyring with a photo of the grandchildren on it, DSiL loves her bracelet with her children’s birthstones on it, and DF loved the personalised Ordnance survey map jigsaw puzzle last year. My DD eats every meal off ‘her’ own plate and started eating eggs when we got her a matching egg cup with her name on it too.

Life is far too short to get stressed over personalised presents!

I think it shows you have made an effort . It takes time and though to order something that is personalised !

DD has asked for a mug for Christmas as she says everyone else in the house has nice ones and she doesn’t so I’ve got her an Emma Bridgewater Reindeer cocoa mug.

She’ll love that it’s personalised as you can’t get anything off the shelf with her name on.
Think it really depends on the item tbh.
