How do you do secret Santa at work?

I have arranged secret Santa in work, in a school. About 15 are involved.

Do you get together as a group to give and open gifts? Or leave them somewhere door people to collect?

We have a big enough space to get together so Covid isn’t a Factor.

We all work odd shifts so dont see much of each other , es at the moment so they tend to get left on the desk / kitchen worktop with the giver / recipients name on it .

Pick a random name, wrap the gift.leave it for recipient when they’re next in

We're using a site called DrawNames to sort out who buys for who. I didn't set it up but I think the organizer just inputted our details. It sent us a notification with our person's name, job done.

We're just going to meet up in the school hall after work one day and swap the presents, nothing fancy. Previously we did Bad Santa which I really like but that's most fun at a Christmas party with some alcohol!

Thanks. Yeah I’ve used the draw names website so every one knows who they’re buying for.

Just wondering now what people do to receive.

I would quite like to see my recipient open theirs, hope other staff feel the same

We usually leave them all on the staff room table and everyone takes theirs home. We did have debate whether it was ok to open them as soon as you received them or if you had to wait til Christmas day though

Different Rotas so we don’t always see each other
Recipient usually take photo and send round the team

We're posting them to each other, then having a Teams quiz on Friday and opening them then
