Dd wants a Fitbit.

There's the Inspire 2 at 89.99 or the versa 2 at 129.

Which is better?!

Following. I’m not sure whether to get one for DH for his birthday in January.

Are they particularly beneficial? He uses his phone for steps.

MrsMiaWallis · 10/12/2020 18:26

No idea! But I'm totally stuck and she's said she wants one (she's 21) so perfect. The inspire seems to have better reviews and is slimmer looking but is older.

Make sure you get one with a heart rate monitor.

Some of the older/cheaper Fitbits don't have heart rate monitors and only count steps.

I am no expert so hopefully someone will know more! But I was looking at getting the Versa recently and my understanding is the Versa is a smartwatch and the other one is just a tracker. So I think the versa would have more features?

WreckTangled · 10/12/2020 18:32

I used to have a Fitbit Charge and now have the versa 2. I think out of the two you've said I would go for the Inspire, I only upgraded to the versa because I can get my sugar levels on it (I'm diabetic) but I really liked the size etc of the charge which is think is similar to the inspire. I love my Fitbit!

MiddleClassProblem · 10/12/2020 18:40

I think DH would want one for both swimming and walking/running

MrsMiaWallis · 10/12/2020 18:45

The inspire has a heart rate tracker

Get whichever is slimmer and smaller with a heart rate monitor

Cyclingwidow15 · 10/12/2020 18:50

I’ve got the versa and it has heart rate tracker, tracks sleep cycles, and it displays text messages and calls from your mobile so similar to an Apple smart watch in that way. It’s also waterproof which I know some of the other versions aren’t.

WreckTangled · 10/12/2020 18:53

The inspire doesn't appear to count flights of stairs of have a sats monitor otherwise I can't see much difference so would go for the inspire as it's smaller. The inspire can record sleep, show text messages etc and track heart rate.

MrsMiaWallis · 10/12/2020 18:55

I'm going with the Inspire. It counts steps and hr and it looks much slimmer. Thanks all!

I've got a charge 3 and have bought a charge 4 for DS for Christmas. Mine is waterproof, tracks sleep, steps, flights of stairs, heart rate and on the app you can track your food and drink each day and then you get a weekly report by email. I love it! It's been a game changer.

DamnShesaSexyChick · 10/12/2020 18:56

I have the inspire HR and I love it.

PickAChew · 10/12/2020 18:59

I have the charge 4 which is a little bulkier than the inspire but does more.

Luxplus · 10/12/2020 19:26

I have a versa 2 and absolutely love it. It counts steps and other activities. Measure heart rate, track your sleep patterns. It also shows txt and you can txt back. Show calls and calendar and notes.

MiddleClassProblem · 10/12/2020 20:17

Can you use it for music? If so does it have Bluetooth for headphones?

Logoplanter · 11/12/2020 07:32

If your DD wants it for exercise, don't get a Fitbit get a Garmin. I say that as someone with the Fitbit Ionic and I've got quite into running and now wish I'd got a Garmin. Fitbits are great, but I think for anyone interested in exercise then a Garmin would be much better.

If you just want a cheap fitness tracker have a look at a Mi band. My hubby has one and it was significantly cheaper than my Fitbit and it terms of exercise stuff does pretty much the same things for a lot less money 🙄

MrsMiaWallis · 11/12/2020 07:34

She just wants a step tracker and hr monitor. She's not a runner. If she gets into running then she can get herself a Garmin.

I would honestly go with versa, it’s quite a flat watch. I love the fact I can control music and even upload music to it, so I don’t need my phone. You can change the screens to suit you, there’s loads!

If budget isn’t an issue, the versa is by far an upgrade to the inspire. I’d never look back at that style again.

MatildaonaWaltzer · 11/12/2020 07:57

Whichever one you get, be aware that htey only last for a max of two years. I've been through scores of the buggers; they used to replace them under warranty quite easily but no longer do and there appears to be a magical built in obsolescence at pretty much two years.
