Small things connected to a big present... So a wooden train if she's got a trainset, toy food if she has a kitchen, dolls clothes if she has a doll etc

Mine is 2.5, we are putting in socks, satsuma, chocolate coins, sticker magazine, bath ducks, kids bath bomb, craft stuff like pens, stickers, and some chocolate milk straws.

Its traditional to get a clementine and some chocolate coins in a stocking, so mine will be getting those. You could substitute the bag of chocolate coins for a small bag of chocolate buttons if you preferred, although my 2 year old has older siblings so will probably want coins like them.

I'd also put:

  • Small toy (little cars/ball/literally anything that fits in)
  • I make them a photo book of their year, you can get hardback ones for about £14 at photobox if you order quickly. Kids love looking at photos of themselves
  • bathbomb/bubblebath
-favourite snacks

By tradition a tangerine or satsuma in the toe of the stocking and chocolate coins are very common.

We always put in bath toys and little musical instruments at that age. Also things like bubbles or little figures like animals or dinosaurs.

My DD is 2.5. She’s got...
Cubitube of dinosaur figures
Rubber duck
Bubble bath
Mr Men Christmas book
Sylvanian Family figures (her sister is 8 and they love playing Sylvanian Families together!)
Gloves
Funky tights
Chocolate coins
Beanie Boo soft toy

CoffeeChocolateWine · 08/12/2020 18:45

And Christmas stampers!

My 2 year old is getting Lanka Kade wooden animal, doctor and nurse figures, spinning top, Toy Story Top Trumps, Maileg mouse in a tin, satsuma and a chocolate Santa lolly

CosyQueen · 08/12/2020 18:52

My DS was 2 last year, in his stocking we put:

Milky bar chocolate buttons
A clementine
A toothbrush
A pair of slippers (toy story)
A book
Teletubbies figures
A new drinking cup
A wooden toy car
A light up bouncy ball

missrabbitismyhero · 08/12/2020 19:47

My daughter is two and she will get:

Hair clips
Hair bobbles
Peppa toothbrush
Enamel cup
Some cars
Stickers
Some Peppa pants
A couple of little bits from Flying tiger - a mini water book and a mini sticker book
Bubble bath
Bath sponge

I go for a mix of fun and practical and for the practical bits I tend to spend a bit more than I normally would if I was buying at any other time of year

Music type noisy toys, like wooden things with ridges that you run stick up and down, and one that you spin with hand that makes a noise..

EcoCustard · 08/12/2020 21:36

Dd2 at Christmas last year got:
Chocolate Santa.
Fairy crown & Wand for dressing up.
Colouring book.
Colouring pens.
Novelty plasters for vet role play.
Peppa pig bamboo mug.
A small Playmobil 123 figure for her farm.
Dummy/nappies for her dolly.
I don’t do novelty plastic stuff, try and put in useful and things that compliment stuff they have.
Dd and ds had similar when 2 but adjusted to their interests.
Ds4 will be 20 months this Christmas and so far has:
Rubber piggy bank ( family tradition).
Wooden trumpet
Small Duplo truck
Chocolate Santa.
Chunky colouring pencils
Colouring book
Mini Watering can for his bath pipes.
Small soft ball.
Tractor drinking bottle.
Mini wooden puzzle.
