I'm putting a gift box together for my parents who have really got into walking. So far I've got a couple of guidebooks, walking socks, travel mugs, and some radox bubble bath! What else could I pop in?! Would so appreciate some suggestions!

A few years ago I bought my DF some boot driers and a boot bag for the car.

I try to carry the absolute minimum possible so I wouldn’t use a lot of things. I assume I’ll warm up while walking but decent gloves and waterproof socks have been a godsend in this weather.

I am also a walker and whistle for emergencies and a small wind up torch. One of the best pressies i recieved one year was a little book of 25 walks that were between three and twelve miles that started and ended at a tea rooms or pub car park within half an hours drive from where I live (close to Dartmoor)

Gloves, glove liners are always useful. Snack bars - perhaps a more expensive type. Don’t know anyone who eats Kendal mint cake!

Book by Mary Ann ochota called Hidden histories - great for anyone who likes exploring outdoors.

Not a present idea, sorry, but maybe encourage them to download the What3Words app. It's mapped the world into 3m square and gives each a unique three word combination.

"Many emergency services now accept 3 word addresses from 999 callers who would otherwise struggle to say exactly where they need help. what3words has helped find many people in need of emergency assistance quickly and easily."
