Christmas Fails

Lighthearted thread for all your Xmas disasters over the years.

I can't think of many but one year my mum was serving up and my sister was washing up as she went. Just as mum pulled the turkey out of the oven, my sister flicked her sudsy hands dry and covered the entire turkey in washing up bubbles. They kept that quiet until after the meal but we did keep wondering why they kept sniggering during it

When I was a kid we had an old gas fire, on Christmas Eve my dad was the last to bed and didn't turn the fire off properly so the fire bit was off but there was a tiny bit of gas still coming out. We were very lucky to not blow the house up when we got up on Christmas morning! We did have to sit there freezing cold with all the windows open while we opened our presents though, that was certainly memorable
