Alternative to Molton Brown

My sister often asks for Molton Brown for birthdays and Christmas, but I feel like it has been done to death so I want to find another equally nice luxury bubble bath for this year to have a change and more of a surprise.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Smile

Arran Aromatics. Lovely products and Scottish, so supporting a British business. I don' t like Molten Brown but know someone who would not use anything else, but is now a total convert to Arran Aromatics.

Just get her what she likes

HelebethH · 03/12/2020 12:17

Also if looking for lovely soaps try The Clovelly Soap Company.

RollneckJumper · 03/12/2020 12:23

If she likes MB and has specifically asked for MB ...get her MB.

She will be disappointed with anything else.

Perhaps get her an MB alternative for her birthday? If she really likes the alternative, she may then go on to ask for it at Christmas instead of MB.

L'occitane
ESPA

WillSantaBeComingToTown · 03/12/2020 12:27

@Blueberrycreampie

L'Occitane is lovely.
They don't really do a bubble bath except lavender and that isnt good in big baths. The rest is shower and bath stuff combined which is poor in baths and doesn't bubble well (unlike some otherr brand which are fine)

A local company to me: goodwash.co.uk/product-category/shop/body-hair-skin/

The Sport Wash or Sebon Sydyn smells absolutely out of this world.

She wants bubble bath- soap would seem an odd gift?
HelebethH · 03/12/2020 12:37

Fair comment but just thought as an add on maybe. I must admit I usually steer clear of buying smellies as a gift as people all have their own preferences. I sippose if she has specifically asked for Molten Brown that is what I would get.

HelebethH · 03/12/2020 12:38

Oops typo , suppose not sippose

chestnutshell · 03/12/2020 12:48

Aesop is nicer than MB IMO. It’s also vegan and cruelty free which MB isn’t.

Tana433 · 03/12/2020 16:04

I love Molton Brown but only buy it for myself at christmas or ask for it as birthday/xmas present. I would be very disappointed if somebody bought me another brand instead.

Bananaman123 · 03/12/2020 18:37

i love MB too and would be happy to receive it every year as a treat.

The outlet stores do some great deals

11MrsLuther · 03/12/2020 19:20

White company is lovely too.

QVC have some good deals on MB and l'occitane etc

Macblondie · 05/12/2020 15:33

I recently discovered Noble Isle and I think it’s MUCH nicer than Molton Brown. Same price and just as luxurious but I think the scents are even nicer!

You could also look at Arran Aromatics and the Highland Soap Company which are both nice too.

Labobo · 05/12/2020 15:45

L'Occitane or Neals Yard. Never heard of Bamford but off to look it up.

DH and DC love MB so they always get some in their stocking. But I think it is identical to Baylis and Harding! (They did a blind test on a consumer programme once and MB fans couldn't tell the difference.)

AliceinBunniland · 05/12/2020 16:13

Noble Isle is not as good IMHO and I believe it's cheaper so would seem to me like you've gone for a cheaper option

TK Maxx have it though if you want some

Chillywilly93 · 25/09/2022 22:26

I've just checked the Molton Brown website and can't believe the price of some of those products! Baylis & Harding is a good alternative that we include in our guest bathroom in the house, plus it is much cheaper

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/09/2022 23:14

Every Bayliss and Harding shower gel I've tried basically blobs straight off my hand onto the shower floor as soon as the water hits it. It won't lather.

bananaboats · 26/09/2022 14:58

Whatever you do don't get Bayliss and Harding if she likes Molton Brown! I agree with pp juts stick to what you knew she likes.

Prettypennies · 26/09/2022 15:02

Expensive but if you want to something extra luxurious the Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Honey Bath is amazing. It’s expensive though, I would only get it with a 20% asos discount

BeyondMyWits · 26/09/2022 15:05

I'd be so disappointed if I'd asked for MB but got anything else. Would still be grateful of course, but MB is my favourite and everyone knows it will get used.
